3rd generation broom vac (broom style)

That doesn't really matter anymore, considering just about every big vacuum brand is owned by an even bigger Chinese brand.

I'd rather get an American made Dirt Devil central vac they still make today and install a VacPan in my kitchen to sweep all the dirt in with a broom than buy one of those.

Yes, they were kind of funky artsy-type designs. A couple years ago I got the dustbuster of that series. Came from a high rise apartment in Brooklyn in the office district. It's one of the recalled models that has the cup design problem where it will throw dirt back into the exhaust fan and out the ventilation ports into your face. lol

I actually like the style of it and use it in my room. It sits nice on the table, and it doesn't perform too bad either. Enough to get stray dog hair, food crumbs, spiders....I know the way vacuum companies partner with quasi-famous designers is purely a sales gimmick and to get the designer to fund an otherwise unmarketable vacuum, it does produce some cool vacuums anyway.

oh gross!

I forgot all about the brum! I even had one in red a while back. They looked nice but their performance was pretty terrible they had this arc shaped airpath that really seemed to reduce it's cleaning ability. The more straight forward path of the original seemed to allow it to work better/
