After seeing VacuumWars include this cleaner as part of his commercial comparison playlist I decided to do a quick review since I've owned it for about 3 months now.
For perspective I live in an approximately 2200 sq ft, split level home, all carpet except for the bathrooms and kitchen. It's 2 guys, 20s and 30s and one rambunctious 5 year old long coated German Shedder...I mean Shepherd. I vacuum every 3 days or so. I got the cleaner on Amazon for $291. I also have a Sebo Automatic X5, Miele C2 Complete with powerhead and a Dyson V8 for household vacuuming.
First impressions were actually terrible. The bag is slightly oversized for the compartment so I foolishly folded the top of the bag over to help it fit instead of putting it in then spreading it out. This caused an obstruction where the dirt enters the bag and dirt started shooting out of the bag into the compartment. I nearly returned it, but I asked for help here and a few members who also have one chimed in and got me on the right track. Now I take a little more care in placing the bags and this hasn't been a problem.
Pros:
Once that issue was solved I actually started using the cleaner and quickly fell in love with it. I can mirror VacuumWars' statement that it is great at carpet deep cleaning. This is a rental home with older, slightly deep pile carpet and the first bag from the Hoover was pretty full of sand, dust and grit that it pulled out of the carpet. I use it on the "Commercial Carpet" setting which is pretty low, but it really digs into the carpet and grooms the pile well.
Pardon the pun but it is a beast for pet hair! I'm not sure how but it doesn't get much wrapped around the brushroll at all. My dog's fur is pretty long and it somehow manages to get it in the bag. I have to clean the brush roll on the Sebo every 3-5 uses or so.
It's built like an absolute tank and super easy to maintain. Being a commercial cleaner they make it purposefully easy to service and replace parts. Obviously I haven't had to yet, but I have taken it apart just to become familiar with it.
It includes a charcoal insert as part of the Hepa filter which helps reduce pet odors that build up over time.
It has 2 power modes...one low for "hushtone" and one high. I don't really care about the noise but the lower power setting is great for rugs.
On-board tools are nice, hose feels durable and the extension wand is metal.
Cons:
Nothing is perfect, but honestly these are definitely nick-picking. I don't think this cleaner has any major cons.
It's a bit heavier on the hand than the Sebo, but I think a lot of that is down to the automatic mechanism on the Sebo vs the static head on the Hoover. I don't feel like the Sebo digs as deeply into the pile as the Hoover does, it just sort of glides over it. The Hoover does a good job of pulling the carpet up to the brushroll and sealing, so there is just more friction when pushing and pulling.
I wish they offered fleece bags. I use their CU2 allergy bags and they're ok...multi-layer paper. A tiny amount of the very finest dust does escape into the bag compartment over time, though. None of this escapes the cleaner as it is a properly sealed system as demonstrated in VacuumWars video.
I wish it included an upholstery nozzle.
The plastic that it is made out of seems to be a little more prone to static electricity than some cleaners, so it gets a little more dust and fine debris sticking to it.
The little clip that is supposed to hold the cord on the top hook isn't nearly strong enough. It comes off and flops around. I fixed this with 2 zip ties.
That's about it I think. Feel free to shoot me any questions if there's more you'd like to know. I included some pictures of the cleaner and the monster that it cleans up behind lol. The hair on the brushroll was cleaned, then I vacuumed the entire house. If I did the same with the Sebo or the Miele there would be a LOT more hair wrapped around the brush.

. I wouldn't be able to resist taking a dog like that home, always have loved dogs since I was a kid, especially the big ones.
