I'm not even trying... I swear!

Model 65 & bags: $8.99 at a thrift store (thanks for the lead, Gary) -- All original, cord, bag, switch, headlight trim. Runs beautifully, but it's been well used. I'm hopeful it will clean up nicely.

Eureka: $15 at an estate sale. I didn't get it at first, but was talked into going back for it after having breakfast and going to the gym (you know who you are). The best part is, written on the owners manual... "Purchased June 4, 1969 at Target" ... then the receipt is tucked inside the manual with the vacuum's price circled. Target sure has come a long way with their receipts in 40 years...

I also snapped up the Regina shag-rake attachment with the Eureka, along with a Westinghouse crevice tool and dusting brush (I think). And the Hoover Handi-Vac came from yet another thrift store.

Aren't you lucky Fred!!! That Hoover Model 65 is one of the first 65's to come out.. It has the one piece handle whereas the later 65's started the two piece handles.... enjoy! ! ! mine is just like yours.. all original. the only thing I don't like about mine is the bag is so stiff.......

Not only does it have the trim around the headlight lens, but the motor housing looks to be in pretty good shape. I have my grandmother's 65 and nothing on it is original anymore and it lost the trim long before I got it. But what bothers me more about it is how warped and out of shape it is. Fortunately they were able to address this in later models.
