Why in the world is this Electrolux going for so much on eBay? None of the attachments look particularly uncommon to me. It does look like some of the bidders are very new to eBay, so I'm guessing artificial bid inflation.  On the other hand, the current high bidder has 1323 positive feedback reviews. Am I missing something here?

Wow..

I would never pay that much for a G. Even if it was in my own town, the most desirable Model G though is the Hospital version. Ebay's prices have inflated alot since I first started going on it. Quite a bit of money. It is in great shape though. Although the hose isn't original and there is no power nozzle. I would rather just buy one in less better shape and fix it up myself. To each their own.

nathaniel and tyler i paid $79.99 on ebay for my all original Tan g with the pn1 w/ original 1 piece sheath, and correct two tone dusting brush. there is no reason for a run of the mill turquoise g to run up that much. especially without the original pn1 and original pn sheath. i could forigve a replacement hose as woven lux hoses are crap.

Sold from Mother in laws estate-did they throw in the Eureka vacuum from the estate for the $255 price? As I see it this is a yard sale vacuum and parts-no hose shown.$255 for this someone sure got Erooked!

My Tan G

I paid 15.00 for, got everything but the box and it looks like new!..the lady who had it lived in a small apartment , she moved into a house in 1980 with a central system in it, so the G basically sat in a closet until I got it a few years ago, the bill of sale says Feb 8 1968, total cost, 205.00!

Wow Kenkart, that is a beauty! That is one of my dream machines.

If you ever want to sell it, please let me know.

I think the Electrolux Model G is Electrolux at its finest. Epecially when used with a PN5 or higher. The PN1 was OK, but just dosent dig into thick or deeper napped carpets. Great for short pile or no pile carpets tho.

Early 1970s,a neighbor lady had a tan model G exactly like this. Whenever we would go over to visit, and she happened to be vacuuming, She would not let me play with it or use it, but i could touch it and look at it! ( if she was smart, she should have let me use it and get her vacuuming done for free!)

I do have one, but not nearly in as good a shape as yours. Mine was a factory rebuild, originally blue, but someone spray painted tan, and not that good a job. The machine is OK,,but not like an original. Of course the Hospital Model G is a drem machine too. Ahhh, maybe someday! Thanks for posting!

Re Tan G

I had 2 Aunts that had them, and I thought as a child they had to be rich...both had color TVs and 88 Oldsmobiles with Air Conditioning!!LOL..So I always wanted a nice G, this one really is about like new, I use it, but not as a daily driver, I keep a Silverado in the house for that, Donald likes the Silverado as he grew up with Electroluxes, I still think the G was the high water mark for Electrolux, it is perfectly suited for cleaning a house today, its quiet ,powerful and easy to operate.
