     I found this video on Youtube of the Filter Queen company doing a demo for the company that does the financing for folks who buy it.  Near the end, there is an interesting part where the shove the Filter Queen full of toilet paper and baking soda.  Pretty interesting overall.

This is similar to a FQ training seminar I attended years ago.Same sort of Majestic vacuum and defender purifier.The FQ in Greenville has long gone under.They didn't have the PCI finance-the financing was arranged under other loan companies.So FQ is now like Kirby in a way-they now have their own finance company.

FQ quality

I've heard that the quality of the FQ machines is not what it once was, not sure on this since I don't have one but the motor in the current model sounds like one of those cheap screamers.

PCI finances Rainbow, Kirby, FQ and other merchandise as well. What is good about PCI is the fact that they will finance people who shouldn’t be financed due to such a low credit score. The deals go from A+-Z. Z rating would be lower to mid 500s anything lower than that and the rep over the phone will call it a DNL meaning do not leave. Now before a Z deal can be processed the rep forwards the salesperson to “special handling” where they will try to see why the buyer is at such a low rating and from there they will find a “buyer” who will finance the deal. Now what really throws sales people off is when they get their commission. For me a Z deal only will pay out $100 because the finance charge is really expensive for the distributor who needs to share part of the deal with the other rep as well so when it comes down to it the business actually loses money on a Z deal because 3 people are getting paid on something that barely breaks even since PCI takes a large percentage out for the risky financing. Honestly it’s a good company to deal with and the representatives are always very polite the promotions they have such as 1 year same as cash and deferred payments are great the only thing that sucks is the interest rate of 29.99%.

     I do believe that it is a high speed, single stage motor though I am not sure that the quality is necessarily poor.  From discussions I have seen on vacuumland, it has great cfm.  I want to say I saw somewhere that the motor is rated at 850 hours.  I'm not sure how solid that is in the grand scheme of things.

I have a similar FQ to what was shown in the video-I feel the quality of these has gone done BADLY-I so miss the husky paddle power switch-instead its the flimsy Hi-Lo-Off rocker switch that breaks!Also liked the older motor and the all METAL construction of the older FQ vacuums.I feel that FQ at this stage is asking too much for what you get.At least 'Lux and Kirby are still substanually made-FQ is not.The whiny motor has to go!Same with the NOISEY powernozzle!Also put the manual height adjust back!

The motor that isnow used in the Aerus classic and legacy is also one stage, it doesn't sound as annoying as the FQ but I much prefer the two stage motor that was used in Electrolux models like the 2100, diplomat, etc. Two stage motors are rarely used today other than with central vacuums. I'm not sure if it's because the one stage screamers are cheaper or if it's because they are believed to be more efficient. They are lighter probably. Even the higher quality brands such as Miele, Sebo, Riccar etc. use one stage motors now.

I, too, much prefer the sound of two-stage motors. I think that their cost, weight, and most of all, size has made them all but extinct in modern portable vacuums.

Do keep in mind that Fairfax still uses two stage motors!
