Help Support VacuumLand:

I am also waiting for that "VOLT" powernozzle-I would like to try it with my NSS M1!I have several central vacs I could use it on.Suggested to Mike it could be used on the "Port-O-Vacs" he makes up from MD 650 units.Like the idea of connecting the nozzle up and just go!-No struggling with other cords.Presently I use my Kirby Avalir as a "powernozzle" with my MD Silentmaster.

Sorry I couldn't make it. I have Been working for the last 4 or 5 days. I also have to install a new old stock Genie 880 garage door opener to replace my shot chamberlain whisper drive

convention was awesome

Hey everyone, got back to St. Louis from the convention this afternoon. It was my first one, but will definitely not be my last. It was awesome, had a blast. Two days of going around the museum using all of the different vacuums. Since I'm a blind person, pictures don't really mean much, but I took my digital recorder and got recordings of the sound of many of the vacuums, in particular, I wanted recordings of the canned ham, that motor really has a nice sound, I just sat and listened to it for a few minutes, so much better than the screaming motor sound so common on vacuums today. I also wanted a recording of the Sun Beam vacuum, that thing takes about 10 seconds to totally shut down, it has a large fan, and was probably the most powerful vacuum available when it came out back in the 1950's. Got a recording of the two speed royal upright, several Kirby models, and some older Kenmore models. I need to play all of the recordings I made, it was awesome for sure, enjoyed meeting everyone. I'm now the proud owner of three more vacuums. I think Tom posted a picture of the Perfect Vacuum with 120 inches of lift, that vacuum has now found a nice home here in my apartment. Also got an Electrolux 1205 and an Electrolux Olimpia in great condition, they just don't make them like that anymore. I hope everyone had as great a time as I did, how about doing it all again next year!

For those who might read this thread...

And think. " I wonder what a meeting like this is like???" Let me tell you. in the fall of 1994 I met a group of guys by phone...no internet then. and in 95 went to my first convention. down thru the years people grew apart and split into 2 groups. Tom was one of the original Vac collectors. I went to St Louis in 96 after Allentown Pa in 95. so I can say definitely. one of Toms get togethers is really like the good old days. you wont find a nicer more fun filled guy than Tom Gasko. he has been and still is a great friend.if you get a chance to go by the museum. be assured you will be welcome and will have a great time.ive been tied up for several months bringing a huge collection of appliances over 300 miles away to our house. so I couldn't attend. but hope to next year, I'm sure everyone had a great time. and didn't spend a fortune doing it!

AAAH Man this looks like it was loads of fun, One day We will make the trip from South Africa and come visit.
