on our way home sean and i overnight in des moines. before we got there i planned a gas stop at the world's largest truckstop, IOWA 80 in walcott, iowa

shows just a small part of the truck parking. this place is insane huge. has a dentist, barber, movie theater and semi truck customization shop inside!

then a pleasant detour. hemmings motor news every year hosts a classic car race/ rally called the great race. this year they were going from st paul to mobile, AL. iowa 80 was a checkpoint on the race, the amazing corvette was the first car we saw

this one was probably best candidate for original unrestored. 1954 chevy belair.

after we went thru iowa, the next day we overnited with Chad Cunningham in kansas city saw his collection and thirfted and ate at a wonderful local dinner cafe. sean and i left after chad went to work, and made our way back home. we ate at a great german restaurant ingrid's kitchen in oklahoma city. we almost good flooded out in kansas, but made it home safe. what an great adventure we had!
