Did you know these are not made by Electrolux?
The Electrolux factory in Old Greenwich, Connecticut was in a residential area meaning that according to town zoning regulations no rubber parts could be made at the factory.
The cords were made in Chicago by the Belden cord and wire company and the winders by the Vacuum Cleaner Corp. of Philidelphia, Pennsylvania. Other parts were farmed out as well like the tubing for the model LX/LXI ejector, handles, gaskets, trim on the attachments and all parts rubber, most likely the hoses as well as the base material was rubber. This was of course a highly guarded secret as Electrolux claimed that they 'made it all!" but Electrolux, like all companies were subject to the rules of the day.
