Hey everyone, I got this Electrolux Airstream 1000 a couple of weeks ago off eBay for £24 and after a good clean up it looks great.
The motor ran very smooth on "first run" so I didn't have to do anything to that. It was missing a couple of tools but I just took it off what was my Contour, Michael now has that.
I gave it a good bath and a T-cut and polish, the only real thing that it needed was a new brushroll, so Sam (Beko1987) sent me the one from his crippled Contour and he also included a few bags and a couple belts which was great, especially the brushroll, as they are no longer available, so thanks Sam!!

There is a link bellow to the eBay listing, for a more "overall, before" picture, because I stupidly forgot to take an "overall, before" photo, never mind.

That really is all there is to say on it, so after a good clean, new filters, bag, belt and brushroll, this is the end result.
I will, first show the before clean up pictures I took when it arrived

nothing short of a miricle

As so many of these had the motors burn out. The motor was made of plastic and unable to take away excess heat, unlike older models, and teh excess wattage coupled with the thicker bags & filters was too much of a strain.

Does this one have the two plastic strips on the motor housing to lock the body upright, or does it have a single catch on the chassis? The latter came later on and indicates that your cleaner was built around 1993.

I love the styling on the switch panal, looks amazing, lol.

Unfortunately the royal appointment has faded slightly, but it reads "by appointment to her majesty Queen Elizibeth 11 supliers of suction cleaners and floor polishers, Electrolux ltd, Luton Beds"

Hi Alex. This is what I mean. There are two styles of snap-catch on these cleaners. Either two strips stuck to the underside of the motor housing, or one fitted to the chassis, at the front of the motor housing.
