I guss the difference in price is a lot if you put it that w

with the Turbomaster you get a bigger cleaner, more powerful motor, variable power, brushroll on/off and height adjustment that has electronic lights behind.
Does that not make up for the extra £40 (£70)??

Not forgetting the TM has a wider sweeping path for bigger houses and larger areas,
The height of the cleaner is also very differential and a massive plus to those over 5'5.

Its size of head means that while using the same fan as the TP and a similar motor wattage if not a bit higher means that theres not as much suction at the base of the cleaner BUT this makes the machine ironically easier to move as it does not grip the carpet as much as a TP does yet it still cleans to the same standard as a TP.

The higher handle helps the user to move the machine more easily when in use.

Overall they are more convienient to use as a TP when dealing with larger areas.

umm

Chris (turbo500) He said they were better than the turbopower, so I figured that they cleaned better at the head, wheather he ment just more powerful, I am not sure.

Hello gentlemen. I agree there was a lot to be had for the extra £70 in todays money, and indeed I think a good deal of consumers went for the TM instead of the TP as there seems to have been a lot more of them around. No, what I was meaning was that the price difference between the two was considerable and that logically one would have had to really want the extra specifications to make it worth paying more for.

Interesting I thought that the consumer could literally get two Goblin Laser cleaners for the price of one Turbomaster Freedom. I may have said before that I had a customer bringing me in three Moulinex master cleaners for repair, all identical, two of which she'd bought for herself, on the basis that the Moulinex had been so very much cheaper than the Hoover cleaner she'd intended to buy, and that she felt it was worth buying cheaper, buying two, and spreading the workload by having one for cleaner for upstairs and one for down. The third cleaner had been bought for her mother. This, I recall her saying, was all bought about by the fact that she'd previously bought a Hoover cleaner for quite a lot of money and it had been a thorn in her side from the word go.

"and indeed I think a good deal of consumers went for the TM instead of the TP as there seems to have been a lot more of them around." Really? I always see Turbopowers cropping up on eBay but very rarely do I see Turbomasters.

To be fair, the Turbomaster advert did not get shown for all that long. Maybe Hoover intended to launch an advert for the Turbopower Freedom but held back as a result of the problems keeping the dust where it should be. Joan Sanderson and Prunella Scales were very much actresses of the moment as they were starring in an excellent radio comedy called After Henry, which had been transferred to television and was being shown at the time of the Hoover advert.

I do wonder also if Hoover pulled the TM advert to avoid selling more of these cleaners.
