I posted In another thread, that my Concept one vacuum had blown the transmission.. By Way of breaking the cheep plastic mounts off of the Replacement transmission I had bought from China..

I am a Small engine Mechanic, So I am excellent with my hands and Very good at Bodging/Fixing things not meant to be fixed..

So I got to work..

I removed the old screws, Ground away the plastic at the ends until I had a clean surface far enough down to be structurally sound.. Then Fitted Oversize screws into all of the holes and used a double hose clamp configuration to stop the Same problem from ever recurring..

Whilst I was working on the transmission, I noticed the Brush housing (Guessing at names here) was Cracked.

Then Covered it in Electrical tape, To keep it from getting rusty etc..

You can hardly tell it has been repaired

All Done..

This vacuum has had "The Hard Grind" As it were for many, many years.. So it's not the nicest looking.. but I can tell you.. It runs like the day it was made..

Strong machines

Indeed, I was disappointed to say the least When my $100 transmission bought new from china last year failed.. The only reason I replaced it was I couldn't find replacement Asbestos clutch plates for the old one.. Why I would have wanted to is a whole other question.. Why they used Asbestos in the first place is beyond me..
