Factory or Service Center Model 30 refurb in hammertone blue with the wartime pressed steel dustbag cap & release lever and the 1947 round press-in exhaust grill. The tools are hammertoned, too.

Suction Ratings

Dave,

What I have found in regards to suction ratings, today you'll get a reading, tomorrow it could be different. I have found that it depends on the altitude, (lower elevation produce more inches of lift) the barometric pressure, and how many volts are coming through the line.

Have you thought of buying a Baird airflow meter to measure airflow?? I've got one and it's quite interesting to see which machine has more than the other.

Dave, as I looked at the picture of the suck-o-meter contestants, it seemed that the 86, 88s and 89s were saying to each other: "Where's our old chum and confrere 87?"

Top shelf cylinderes. first up:

ZB 55 @ 65" !!! Yes really.

Interesting story. This ZB 55 was on the shelf beside the ZB30 because it's in second best cosmetic shape but had never been cleaned by me. Naturally I checked the bags on all the vacs as I proceeded down the line reconnecting cords because sometimes I will stash cords or tools inside. In this case the bag was HALF FULL...of fine plaster dust and mouse droppings. The motor filter was stuffed with more plaster dust as the bag has a big rip in it.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained. so I cleaned it all up, plugged it in, turned it on and voila!

The highest suction reading I have ever seen on a ZB30/50. Perhaps it has a larger motor retrofitted...

Oh, and Vernon & Rick. You are so right. As soon as I got home tonight I re-tested the J and the 1205 with and without the plug - same reading with plug in and lost 2.5-3" suction with plug removed.

Moved these less than cosmetic Contestants from the floor under the hoses out to the couch. Tested but didn't take pictures.

So hushed are these vacuums that Felix lounged there for the whole procedure, even right next to the LX. LOL Good Kitty!

This was the surprise sleeper vacuum!

This Kingston, which is visually identical to the Monitors pulled an astounding to me 76" !!!

He is sooo top of the list for a full restoration. On the floor no more.

If I was coming to the Convention this little bulldog would be coming along...
