Errrr Dave...those are not the same Electrolux as the old ones. The old US and Canadian Elux Co. is now called Aerus.
Long story short;
Electrolux in the US and Canada licensed the Electrolux name from the Swedish parent company way back decades ago. About 10-15 years ago Electrolux Sweden bought back the N.American rights to the Electrolux name and began building those contraptions sold at Sears etc.
The company that had been building the Cdn/US Electroluxs all these years is now called Aerus and is still in business but for how long who knows.

Yup, Pete, I know all that convoluted history. So the answer to the question I interpreted that Norm posed is: Aerus makes those modern plastic linear airflow canisters now familiar in design to the Zs, XXXs and LXs, while Electrolux Sweden makes the tangerine/silver Egg shaped mini bag alien Podvacs available at Sears. I must say the Podvacs certainly look convincingly like most excellent SciFi raygun/flamethrowing/acid spewing props. :-) Much more convincing than the Dysons, which hark back visually to Dick Tracy's collegue Dr. Diet Smith's inventions for Moon Maid's use.

So the question is, where are both these vaccum brands now manufactured/assembled. Who can enlighten us?
