Hi everyone,

Was just looking at some webpages showing bags for Sanyo vacuum cleaners, and I came across a pack of bags for Sanyo uprights that look very much like Kenmore/Lewyt/Singer twin fan uprights from the 1970s. I seem to remember Sanyo bringing these into North America in that decade, but I don't think I ever saw one in real life. Below you will see a link to an eBay posting for the bags, which will show you the design of the vacs. Does anyone of you own one of these rare 120volt Sanyo uprights? The model numbers are SCU7010 and/or SCU7050.....

In Canada, all Sanyo products were imported and distributed by Magnasonic Canada Limited in Montreal. From about 1969 to 1979, my dad was Magnasonic's director of advertising. I probably saw these Sanyo uprights in the Magnasonic showroom at one point....but never got to play with one!
