Just got this from ebay. I love it! It runs pretty well, but it's dinged in a few places and is missing paint as well.

Model L

Great vac! Many people look at the 'E' on handle and think it is the model.Yours seems to be a newer blue front with older white rear with older style switch.Your above floor tool is upside down on storage clip. The original hoses will sometimes loose suction. If there is a difference in suction directly at vac and less at hose end you might want a newer hose.I find the 4 ply self sealing bag to be the BEST EVER way to dispose of dirt.(With the AirWay bag a very close second.)Happy Vacuuming!

Turns out that it is in terrible condition. The motor sure seems like it's going out, and the body is rusted pretty bad. eBay sellers don't specify the condition anymore....

I wouldn't give up on it yet.

I wouldn't give up on it yet. The motors on an Electrolux model L hardly ever go out. Worst thing I've seen is bearings need to be replaced. Shoot me an email and I can walk you through on how to rebuild that motor. My email is: [email protected].

I really don't want to go into it not knowing how to fix it. The back end is rusted bad enough that the screws don't stay in place. The windings are blackened and the motor slows down during usage. It's pretty rough. IDK what kind of conditions it endured before I got it but as far as I can tell it wasn't treated nicely. I want to take it in to the vac shop one of these days. Paul can make it run like new.
