Hi guys

A 1960's Goblin Ace. An extemely popular machine here that had quite a long run from late 50's through to 1972.

One of the most powerful vacuum cleaner on the market with a 520 watt motor. After it's discontinuation in 1972 Hoover picked up the design and ran with it in 1977 till 1981 as the Hoover 407 with a few modifications and infamous tools and powerful 700 watt motor.

Cheers

Mike

Hey Mike:

Are those the right parts with the Goblin? They look like they are from an older model and I thought you posted a picture of that model a while back with the new style floor brush with it.

hi Doug

They are the correct parts for this goblin apart from the hoover upholstery nozzle.

It's an earlier model, note the chrome handle and pipes and the carpet tool, in 1967 they changed to brushed aluminium with the usual goblin plastic floor head (the same you had in the 600/700 series line up)

The only thing that changed in the 15 odd years of production is that the end caps went from an oxblood/burgundy colour to black

The hose remained braided until discontinued in 1972.

A 1968 consumers report stated it had very powerful suction (only the electrolux exceeded)but it lacked cleanability, it simply didnt through design get the dirt out of the carpet when compared to the others.

Cheers

Mike
