1959 Johnson's Wax Floor Polisher

In addition to redoing my archives, I also gave my bedroom a thorough spring cleaning. I used my 1959 Johnson's Wax floor polisher and Beautiflor wax to do the floor.

Wow, that Johnson's '59 polisher & Beautiflor Wax are still top performers after all these years! The wood flooring also has continued to sport its durable and beautiful condition!

Current products and applicators may be more efficient, but are unable to give the same degree of satisfaction & thoroughness as the more involved method (comparing my use of Rejuvenate products versus Electrolux USA's Model B-8 & standard detergents). Further, the mid-20th century products' quality results are undeniable.

A lot of cleaning products are different than their vintage counterparts. They quit making Brite floor wax for example because too many people were suing them for slip and fall injuries because their wax had Teflon in it (which is what made it so great and shined well). No other floor wax today has Teflon in it nor does it shine like Brite.

At least with vintage cleaners, you get to use the product(o long as it hasn't gone bad) and then you can collect or sell the can, so it's win-win. I used to have a glass bottle of Lysol I found at a yard sale for 5 cents never used, but I sold it in a yard sale because I got nervous of accidentally breaking it having it around the house.
