1956 COMPACT Model C-4 Owners Manual

VacuumLand – Vintage & Modern Vacuum Enthusiasts

Help Support VacuumLand:

The Polish-Aire

Because of the Compact's extreme suction - +80" - any air powered tool gives intended performance, ie: Electrolux polisher or Turb-o-tool, Preco Power brush, Sunbeam Turbo Brush. It's a treat to hear these air tools I have wind up and go about their business without bogging down.

That was great Dave, makes one want to own a Compact. I think the old vacuum manuals are so much fun to look at.

Dave:

What an incredible community service! Thanks so much. I'm saving this to my hard drive and burning it to CD.

What a treat

thanks Dave

Guess my serial # 1089338
is a serial number at being about 13,000 units earlier than this one sold in 58

So its likely mine is a later C4 unit.

Did you notice it's Interstate Precision Products
Not Interstate Engineering

Seems they changed the name most likely why they made a new manual halfway into production.

Be interesting to see who made the earlier C4's & how long they were marking them Precision Products....

A copyright of 56 does mean the unit was produced 56 to 58.

It doesn't mean it's a 56 vac unless it is known that the manual was updated in later years.

Still it is mid to late C4

Wow....now we have linked 2 serial numbers & it seems 56 was about the millionth mark for compact

Cool!

Just a note my boxed accessories were shipped from Canada in 1962 Patent Pending so its likely it came out during the C6 era

but I'll add the Sudser Instructions here since they are with my C4
