1950s?? vacuum cleaner - any info

Hi there, I have had this vacuum for over 30 years and bought it used back then. I am going to sell it but not sure what the model is - I THINK it's a Hoover model 63 but can anyone confirm please? Also not sure if it is worth putting on ebay to sell. It works great but is in bad shape cosmetically so needs professional restoration. Any info much appreciated, thanks!

I'm going to say,it is a Hoover62 or a 63.Look on the bottom for the stamped model #.Good luck...

Has a few battle scars, but I bet it still cleans great!

If you do decide to get rid of it, I would probably be interested.

It looks like it was/is a 29. The handle is too long to be a 63, and the 62 would've had the tan hand grip. This appears to have been painted to resemble a 63. From where the paint has worn away, you can see the familiar maroon hood and what looks to be the silver hammer tone paint on the base. As pinkge suggested, flip it over and look for the model number in the upper left hand corner below the rear wheels. It's seen better days, but could easily be restored!

After close examing,I agree,with Hooverboy81,it is a Model 29,with a 63 bag and has been repainted.The handle is also,a 29,as it is longer and not one of the shorter handles, like the 63.A lot of work to bring this baby back.

Does anyone know why the 29 had a longer handle than the 62/63? Was it something to do with the cloth shake-out bag rather than disposable bags? I never realized there was a difference,
