My 875 came with a tall handle, like the 750 or 800, the second style of hoover rubber grip(Hoover embossed on either side, in the older script), fitted with the Hoover spring roller bag holder and pointy cable hooks. It was rebuilt at least once, date stamped 1951.
I have seen the suggestion on-line that it originally came with the shorter 160 style handle but made of steel with that model's tapered hand grip with the later Hoover logo down the front and flat topped cable hooks. However I have also seen a really badly reproduced, fuzzy period ad which suggests it had the taller handle.
Both the ad and the handle suggestion come from the vintage Hoover emporium website which is really confusing.
Since there appear to be only four of this model on Vacuumland, its a bit of a long shot but anyone know which handle it should have?
Just to further confuse things mine has the lowest serial number and has a steel height adjuster knob not the phenol one which everyone else's(all 3 of them!) seem to have..
