    kirby DS50 and DS80, any difference?

    According to The Kirby dealer in my hometown who started out selling D-50s, the D-50 was hard on motor brushes when used with attachments,They redesigned the motor for the D-80, the D-80 was ,according to them, one of the best Kirbys they ever sold.

    This was The last GE upright made until the U1 came out in 1959, this was made in 1952, It was a wonderfully well built powerful machine but the automatic height adjustment was prone to give problems.

    Earlier PN 1 ????

    The second version had the snap clips But also had a receptical at the hose grip so you could unplug the pn without taking the entire cord off everytime the third version had the vinyl straps that held the cord pretty much permanently.

    Next time, I service one of mine i will post pictures ive got both versions, As Tom said, the first version had a long cord with plastic snap on clips you had to put on the hose and remove every time, the AF power nozzle was a light grey with grey trim.
