William, The noise level is just about the same -- with the exception of the added low tone growl from the revised brush roll. You can hear and feel the longer bristles at work. Using the hose on the DC41 will feel no different than with any other current generation Dyson. However...

Also.... Just incase you were wondering, the HEPA side hemisphere screws on and off by twisting the big purple hub at the center of the hemisphere. It ratchets once it hits proper torque in order to prevent stripping. Also, the kickstand is pressure sensitive; there is no longer a red pedal.

Rounded airway Reminds me of the DC04/DC07. Also, note the clear access hatch for removing any airway obstruction inside the ball.

Other changes. A few other things worth noting: - The handle of the machine no longer separates with the telescopic want. - The dusting brush has longer, softer bristles for broader cleaning coverage. - Dyson finally went back to using rounded airways as seen on older units such as the DC04...
