    An update on my Sanitaires

I'd definitely love to have one. They are very rare and looking. If i had one I'd probably paint the hood chrome to match all my 886s and 888 but then again idk. I like originality. When restoring my 1983 SC686 and 1987 SC886 i made sure everything was new old stock and time period correct...

Does anyone have a red Kirby 500 series nozzle bumper they would either be willing to donate or sell

Cheap? I have a 508 with red trim and it's missing the bumper. Also i need a new handle fork if anyone has one to sell cheap or donate as mine is the wrong one. It has a later 500 series fork and it's too wide. I'm really broke rn and just lost my job two days ago as the car dealership i was a...

Update on my 1962 Kirby 562 Sanitronic

Thanks everyone It took 4 days to get it where it is now. Next is polishing. That's going to take a while as i will be doing it by hand like all my other Kirbys and Royals. I can't wait till she's done. Even in her current state she's still beautiful to me. I think the only part on it that's...

I tried to select off topic but it wouldn't let me. Just hoping to find some female collectors

Update on my 1962 Kirby 562 Sanitronic

All cleaned up. Just needs a really good polish. Should be getting more mothers aluminium polish soon. The cord came out nicely. Took a lot of time and elbow grease to clean the cord

    An update on my Sanitaires

I've never heard of an 8.4 amp. Perfect/Oreck has an 870 That equals 7.5 amps. There was never an 8.4 amp in the redline 600 or 800 series or blue lines. I actually did put a Perfect motor in one of my Sanitaires. No difference in power though eventhough the 7.5 amp motor does spin a little faster

    An update on my Sanitaires

My 1987 SC888B is an F&G setup So far all of my Sanitaires are shakeout except the 888 is F&G. One of my 886Es has a dual porpoise bag. My 2004 886E has it. You could just get an ST outer bag and go that route. I plan on doing that to one of them at some point

"Metal" Sanitaire 7 amp motors sold as new -- OEM NOS or aftermarket?

From my experience the new motors are nowhere near as good. My oldest Sanitaire is a 1983 SC686 with the original metal motor and still runs great. Was used commercially originally I'm guessing because it had a magnet bar on it when i got it. My 1987 SC886B also has the original motor and runs...

    Well i got another Kirby. A 1962 Sanitronic 562!

Wow those are some beautiful 562s! Yea mine is very rough but runs great. My 508 was worse when i got it and I've restored Royals that looked worse so i have hopes for mine. It does have the original white cord just very dirty. I will use engine degreaser and a magic eraser on it. Cords usually...

    Well i got another Kirby. A 1962 Sanitronic 562!

This is my 5th Kirby now. Along with my 2007 Kirby Sentria, 1998 G5, 1978 Classic 3, and 1948 508. She's rough but not for long. She was $60 right in my town on craigslist but since I'm broke rn from buying 4 other vacs last week i did some brake work on his old Ford f150

    An update on my Sanitaires

Also they are not from the same plant as Oreck/Perfect. Perfect, Oreck Premier and the bissell version are made in the same factory in China and Sanitaires are made in Mexico. Sanitaires have been made in Mexico since 2004 or 2005. Before that Sanitaires were made here in the US. My new 2019...
