    Sanitaire Brand and Model History

I bought the blue canned ham Sanitaire in fall, 1983. It was from a vac shop in the Neshaminy Valley mall in Bensalem, PA. The vacuum is long gone, but it was a great cleaner.

Thanks for hosting, Sean! Santa Fe is a great city, and as many of us can attest, your minimeets have always been over the top, so we anticipate this to be the best convention ever!

    Vacuums that Need New Homes

And more.... Here are more vacuums. The Model Gs are in excellent condition and even smell like new motors. Extra hoses and even a new replacement cord reel ($25). The Diamond budget model has no suction. I have manuals and some extra bits. If you are looking for anything particular, please ask.

We are downsizing and need to pass some vacuums onto new homes. Most will be free if you pick up in Dallas; otherwise, packing and shipping charges will be necessary. Email me if interested. There will be more to come. Thanks, Jay, (email in profile)

    Carpet Washer Method

That is the method I have settled on after many years using my SpinScrub. I had tired of having to clean the rental RugDoctor units before even bringing them into the house, so I bought the Hoover at a local vacuum shop. They threw in a gallon of industrial carpet cleaner/disinfectant. I...

    Electrolux XXX cordwinder

Concentrates suction Flip the rug nozzle to scrub the caked dirt loose, then vacuum up with more concentrated suction. I hated the sound as the nozzle closed off airflow from one side and opened up on the other.

    Eureka 2095 A

Instant on off switch In second picture showing the handle, I believe that is a feature of this model that immediately shuts off power when the handle is released. Turns on again when handle is squeezed. It was described in an ad for this machine. Hope you enjoy your Eureka!

    "Shark Attack"

AERUS design The top-of-the-line Aerus was designed by Lux International in Switzerland, not Electrolux in Sweden. Very similar products to Aerus can be viewed at luxinternational.com. Those Swiss designers are outstanding. Jay

    Aerus Website

Have you noticed the changes this week on the Aerus website? Hard to find much mention of vacuums, and vacuums are conspicuous by their absence under the "Products" tab. I hope this is just a website error and not the future for Aerus vacuums. aerusonline.com

Is it better for a vacuum to run on slower or faster speed?

Low Speed Roseanne Barr once rhetorically asked why a vacuum would have a low speed option--"for the days when you want to do a shitty job?"

Need a measurement on Aerus Electrolux upright hose

Upright hose machine end Mine appears to be approximately 1-7/8" OD, 1-5/8" ID. It is soft rubber. I tried converting it to a Model G hose without success. I believe using an inner piece of tubing, glued to the ID of the metal machine coupling and also glued to the ID of the soft rubber hose...

WANTED: Royal Metal Upright hose & Attachment set

Royal attachments I have a set if you are still interested. Sent you an email. Interesting feature is that except for the upright adapter, the attachments are identical with those used on the canisters. Even the hose is the same. Jay

    Speaking of the Hospital G...

G Wheels Rear wheels on all my G's are larger because of a rubber coating on them, protecting the hard floors from the hard plastic. Front wheels which only touch carpet are not covered. So, technically you both are right. Same wheels, but rear wheels are covered making them larger.
