I visit the forum daily. A lot of valuable information and history and talented people sharing information and repair techniques. I am grateful for those who answer the same old question by new members, and do it with grace, style, and professionalism. Thank you.
I enjoy the FB groups as...
"Budget" is a relative term - it depends on condition - is it NOS, used, actual OEM part, or reproduction? It's hard to determine value and to offer a budget that might be unfair to one party or another.
Although I check the forum at least a few times per week, as well as ebay, I thought I would mention once more that I am looking to purchase a NOS, used, or reproduction Kirby 505 cloth bag. Any leads are appreciated. Thank you.
Sharing here - the rivets used by Kirby are known as blind or tubular rivets and use a bench top press in a majority of cases. I have seen hand versions - I am currently looking for a device to install bumpers and nozzle / light cap trim.
I am looking for a bag for a 505- a reproduction with...

question?
Bill - I did ask a question. You responded by asking a question. If your response was to advertise or let me know you are a genuine Kirby parts dealer, you did not share any contact information. I am not aware of what the Customer Service Center is or where it is located. FYI, I...
I purchased a first or second generation dirt meter. I am sourcing replacement glass ( 4 5/8 in) diameter and gaskets seals- a user on a FB group posted links to parts. I’m wondering how I can tell the p/n of the meter itself. Where would that be stamped or marked? Thank you
Heritage II Legend
Sharing my everyday-use 1988 Heritage II Legend. A sentimental vacuum as it was the FIRST Kirby I refurbished. I chose NOT to buff metal and enjoy as-is. For all-around use and vacuum suction, I think it was one of Kirby's finest models. I am lucky to own many Kirby vacuums...
Would appreciate some feedback on a work situation- my company employs a person with a developmental disability who does light housekeeping and janitorial in an office setting. This person can be unusually hard on an upright vacuum. I have replaced two commercial Hoover units and now using an...
just awesome.
Awesome collection. Awesome presentation. I am beyond words how anyone could say anything disparaging about the presentation of the collection, and the efforts that went into it. I can only say CONGRATULATIONS and THANK YOU for sharing. Gary K.
I acquired a U4003 Hoover vacuum. As I am not familiar with Hoovers of this vintage (ca. 1974)- is it possible to find a new hood and cord for it?
Can anyone help identify comparable models where parts may interchange?
Yes I know it’s not museum quality and has been “hacked or bojacked” but...
Congratulations!
Here is my 561. I use it almost daily - I am somewhat sentimental about it - its as old as I am (sometimes it runs better than I do) :-) I know it is not original but I wanted a red color theme for it. Enjoy your 561!!
Can anyone share where I can source a rivet tool - I call it a blind rivet- similar to what Kirby used/uses to attach headlight cap trim and bumper trim? Thanks
