    Elextrolux Deluxe XXX (30)

Model 30 Your model 30 looks great. They are beautiful machines from an era we will never see again. I have a model 30 that belonged to my great aunt. After she passed away at the age of 99, I found it sitting in the original box in a closet. It’s in great shape, but something is up with the...

    Royal 882T Estate Sale Find

Ben Thanks for the information on this vacuum. I oiled it. I also took the brushroll out and cleaned it and lunricated the ends. The bristles are soft, but it does seem to work better now that it’s been cleaned. You’re right it does have square metal ends. There is also not an adjustment on...

    Royal 882T Estate Sale Find

I found this gem today hiding in the back of a closet. I got it for $3. I could hardly believe it. It runs like new, but needs a new brush roll. I’m thinking it’s from the early 1990s. Are brushrolls still available? Would this one need to be oiled?

    Rainbow D4C SE

Thank you for the responses. I took the separator off and scrubbed it. After looking at it closer, I noticed that there was a hard black substance that had formed on the separator. I took a small screwdriver and scraped it off. The machine now works great now with no vibrating noise. I have...

Any other suggestion Does anyone have anymore suggestions about what could be causing this noise? Does the separator need replacing?

    Rainbow D4C SE

I got my rainbow out to use tonight, switched it on and it started this strange sound. I have included a video. I have noticed the suction isn’t as strong as it used to be. What could be the problem? http://https//youtu.be/Cr-YGgBad24

    Rainbow Suction

I have recently acquired a Rainbow D4C-SE. It was in decent shape when I found it. I carried it to th vacuum shop to have it serviced anyway. After several weeks of use, I have noticed that the suction is much weaker than on my Electrolux E from 1954. I have no experience with Rainbows until...

    Silver King Vacuum Cleaner

My Silver King I got it for $13 at a Thrift Store. It only has the vinyl hose and upholstery tool. The handle on the top is missing. I am assuming it broke off at some point. It runs very strong and quiet. It needs a good spa treatment, but will make a good garage vac. I am assuming that...

Maytag M700 or better/nice Vacuum for $500 or less

M700 The machine is really good. Almost identical to the Riccar. It’s a little heavier and more awkward than any older Riccar I’ve used. It just isn’t very useful on my shag rugs. I guess I’ll use my old Hoover Convertible on the shag. It works extremely well on it. Tim

Maytag M700 or better/nice Vacuum for $500 or less

My Maytag This is a very powerful machine. Tremendous suction and good air flow. The agitation is amazing. However, it doesn’t work well on my shag rugs. Is there an adaptor or something that would raise it up from the floor a little? Tim

Blue Eureka This is a picture I found in the archives. It is like the blue Eureka I mentioned at the beginning of this thread. I'd love to find one of these.
