Hoover Decade 800 Bearing and Roller Grease?

Thanks for the help, I found it at Grainger. It says electric motors right on the bottle. My vacuum is less than 1/3 HP but I think it will work ;-) Gary http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/3INONE-Multi-Purpose-Oil-3UM48?Pid=search

Hoover Decade 800 Bearing and Roller Grease?

Thanks for the help. I usually use Mobil one red synthetic grease, I hope that works. I thought maybe there was a clear grease or white lithium grease for the roller so it won't wreck the carpet if any excess leaks. Also, reading prior threads, I understand there is red or black can 3 in 1...

Hoover Decade 800 Bearing and Roller Grease?

Hello, I just acquired a nice Hoover Decade 800 vacuum (I previously restored a Decade 80 in 2008). For starters it will need a new fan blade and belt. My question is what is the recommended bearing/bushing lube for the motor. Also, what grease is recommended for the roller. I've looked in the...

    Polishing Plastic?

Hello, I've been looking at all the wonderful vac collections of the members and It's become obvious that most of you have plastic polishing down to a science. What componds/materials/products do you recommend for polishing and/or removing light scuffs. I tried some snowmobile plastic...

Hoover Decade 80 NIB! on Ebay

Many thanks for all help and input. I replaced 2 light bulbs, the roller's 2 bearings, the Belt, and the Fan Blade. It now works like new. The local Hoover dealer could not believe I was "wasting" money fixing such an obsolete machine....

Hoover Decade 80 NIB! on Ebay

That's great to hear! I was seriously considering buying a Dy$on before I found the Decade 80....Why don't they just make these again? They sure are simpler and it should be way cheaper to run without all the extra filters and expensive bags to change. Walmart even has generic Type A bags on...

Hoover Decade 80 NIB! on Ebay

Hello to all! This is my first post. My name is Gary. My yellow Eureka Bagless vacuum quit working yesterday so I was forced to go up into the attic storage and dig out my mom's old green Hoover Decade 80 vacuum. After cleaning the dust off it appeared to have not been used very much and...
