    A big Thank You!

I remember that Allentown convention well, Hans. It was my favorite of all of them. I made great friends there 21 years ago and enjoyed seeing all the collections through the years. I had the pleasure of visiting the Michael Hays museum many times and I'm glad you now are caring for the machines.

    NEWEST!! tan B-8 left???--Singer R-2!--Blue & near new 60s--

I'm also sorry to hear of your parent's passing. That is something I wish we wouldn't need to experience, but no one is spared. I hope the remaining parent accepts assisted living and continues to live a happy life. I have not sought out vintage vacs in many years, but one I would like to...

I know this doesn't fit this category, but........

So sorry to hear this. Chris came to my home, must be 12 years ago now, for a fun visit while in town for an assembly of his order. He was a good person with a good heart. You may not know that he was also a master locksmith with fantastic knowledge of vintage locks. I had thought of him just...

Congratulations! I am glad who I consider the "King of Westinghouse" won that auction! If you have access to a scanner, put the instruction manual on the website. I don't think I've seen a Westinghouse manual.

Festool Dust Extractor - from me, to me

Is that a CT 33? I know of one locally that been used hard in a shop for over 10 years and it is still running strong.

Festool Dust Extractor - from me, to me

It is a disposable fleece bag and holds 6.9 gallons. There is a permabag option, one that can be reused, for $250. A box of 6 disposable bags is $36.

Festool Dust Extractor - from me, to me

Rex, it does use a fleece bag. It's very quiet to use in the house. I was told by a cabinet maker that the variable motor speed has to be turned nearly as low as it can go, or it will suck the power tool down to the wood! We also have an Alto Wap Attix 5 that is impressive. I bought it in 2006...

Festool Dust Extractor - from me, to me

I have a great appreciation for commercial vacs that can clean up after a day of woodworking, or clean the house Saturday morning. This is a machine that fits the bill. The Festool CT 26 is made to integrate with Festool hand tools, like routers and sanders, which I plan to get in the future...

Lux Talk Around the Water Cooler

No problem, Rob. I have yet to use a bag, but likely will this weekend. Funeraldirector, I absolutely agree the Iota bags were the best. I wish I could find a stash for my Renaissance.

Lux Talk Around the Water Cooler

Pics of new bags I thought I would share photos of the new fleece bags for the Platinum. I ordered them from Aerus online. They cost a bit more than the paper bags but will be worth it if they contain the fine dust that the previous version did not. I had quite the issue with the paper bags...

    New (to me) Hoovers

Hans The girls ate at Mary Mac's Tea Room this weekend! My son and I were not with their group, so we ate at the original Varsity drive in downtown. They raved about the food.

Anybody use the old Rexair rug tool on their new Black Rainbow?

How did it work, Rob? Looks rather nice on the e2.

    NIB Constellation model 843

I sure do and I'm glad you have it! I almost did not go in the thrift that I found it in.

    NIB Constellation model 843

It seems more like IB rather NIB. You can't get that wear on the pedestal without dragging over the floor several times.

    I'm a Retrobrite true believer

That's a very nice improvement! Did the peroxide etch the surface and make the polished plastic surface dull?

A Nice Haul of Free Vacuum Cleaners!

Charles, if you didn't have a hose attached, there is a poor seal of suction over the inlet. They usually have respectable suction. John

FOR SALE: An Electrolux (USA) Model 20 on eBay

Rob, My example also has an exhaust louvre. The attachments that came with it are exactly as you described. I would love to see the original hose - the hose that came with the machine was a standard model 30 hose. Very interesting machines!

Example of Rainbow Service After the Sale

I have no doubt that my Rainbow rep would quickly and happily repair my new Rainbow. Darrell Sammons in Knoxville, TN is worth a call if you're in the market. He prices the machines very fairly, and is just a nice guy. Luxlife, I know what you mean about Electrolux. Thankfully, they don't give...
