    Every Home Should Have.........

wow You even color-coordinated them! Green Hoover on green wall... Blue Hoover on blue wall, etc. Nifty! Good luck on stashing the collection... Most of my closets are full of vacuums, so I know the feeling!

    Requesting Info. For my Vacuums

Info What info are you looking for exactly? Nice collection... How do you like the epic upright? I find myself coming back to use mine more and more!

Rainbow E2 Separator Stuck to fan housing

Tight I'll second Electroluxxxx's suggestion of giving the motor shaft end a little tap as you work the separator off (try jiggling it or twisting it as you pull). You also questioned whether it happened because of tightening too much... You should only tighten that nut finger tight (plus...

    Somewhat of an Lx Restore

Removing Paint I'll second the paint striper. I found that the regular Orange Stripper works great on old paints and finishes - just keep the area "wet" with stripper overnight (don't be stingy, but don't overdo it). You shouldn't have any problems this way, and it's easy on the underlying metal.

    I'm amazed......

Awesome vac I know how you feel... I love my rainbow, but my other vacs do a great job too (especially my 'Luxes). I don't have the newer models, like the Olympia, but my tanks are really quiet and powerful. I love using them! And I love that flip-over floor tool, too. My Electrolux L and F...

Welcoming some new vacuums to my Kirby family

Nice! I love my generation Kirby's, especially my G3. I'm only a few away from a complete generation collection. Your G3 will look awesome when it's finished! I attached a pic of mine - it's my favorite g-series look.

Hi There, New to this community.

Looks awesome! Welcome fellow weirdo! :) Nice to have a new face! I've always loved the style of those Westinghouse vacuums. Congratulations on a job well done.

Broke some hinges on my kirby! Ack!

Rivets I'll second the counsel given on riveting the new part (was going to suggest that myself). Also, I can't believe the lengths people (parents) go to trying to "rid" others of some "horrible" obsession! I'm sorry you had that experience (I hope they apologized for it, too)! From one...

    Unusual Hoover

Yep, I agree with David, I used to have a Windtunnel Air myself - this style has been around for a number of years, they just tweak it. That said, it is a nice modern vacuum - I quite liked ours the years we had it (gave it to my brother). No complaints.

    Filter queen model 31

Filter Queen One of my favorite models, congrats. All of the filter queen hoses will fit (they all use the same connections & attachments). Browsing eBay, I've noticed the attachments are kinda pricy - if you're not in a rush you can watch and wait for a good deal.

    Frankenbag

Clogged Bags I've never had a problem with reduced flow on a Kirby because the bag got 'clogged'. If you watch most sales videos like TriStar, etc. they put a'filter' on the end of the hose and then vacuum your sofa (this is supposed to represent a typical bagged vacuum). Of course, that tiny...

    Kirby motors

As stated above.... Kirby's design is very straightforward and simple... The overall design has been very minimally altered through the years because it does what Kirby wants it to. The Avalir looks almost identical to a G3 except for minor things. The overall design hasn't changed much over...

My Kirby update - a year into ownership...

Congrats! Nice writeup on your "Kirby year" experience. I absolutely love my Kirbys! I've tried so many different brand and types of vacuums, but I always come back to the Kirby. I think that many people judge them without trying to live with them for a while and give them a chance to shine...

I finally found out what this is

Congrats! I'm sure it wasn't keeping you up at night, but it's nice to have little mysteries solved. Did you find it from a chance encounter with an old advert, or was it a feverish search filled with action and adventure (perhaps raiding an ancient tomb)?

Yeah... Awesome, thanks for the info! I thought it was for sound deadening, but wanted to be absolutely sure.

    Lux B8 Polisher Question

Hello, I've been cleaning up my B8 Beautifier recently because the grease separated (putting oil everywhere!)... I oiled the motor bearing then noticed a similar felt material under the gearbox. Everything is coated in oil and didn't know if this was for a bearing, too. Does anyone know if this...

18" Royal Commercial...infinite screw Adjust-O-Rite or 5 position foot pedal?

Precision or Ease? Though I haven't had any problems with the Au-toe-matic (toe click) system, the Rite-Height (dial) system allows for exact adjustments (and I prefer it). Though most people will find the ease of switching adjustments with the "toe click", you can get fanatical precision with...
