    Vintage Filter Queen

Nice machine! Not sure what model it is, but one thing I can recommend is to keep the original cellulose filter. Yours doesn't look bad at all, and if it doesn't have an odor, it's worth hanging on to. They're not made any more. The replacements offered these days are some kind of foam, and...

Show us your Vintage Canister/Tank cleaner

Wonderful pictures, and wonderful machines! I especially like your Filter Queen 200 (of course), but that Singer Roll-a-Magic is really cool too. I'm also intrigued by the McAllister Bagless. Does it use a filter system similar to that of the Filter Queen? You've all seen my Filter Queen 350...

    So...Daily Drivers? (pre 1995)

Mine aren't exactly "daily" drivers -- more like every five days (or so). These days, I'm using my Filter Queen 350. Love love love it, as the carpet tool works well not only on my area rugs, but on my wood floors! Two for one, and half the time! If (when) things get really bad, and they...

Set of Attachments for Hoover 700 and 725 These attachments (plus original box) are still available. Included are the box (worn around the edges and with partially torn corners), two-piece wand, dusting tool, crevice tool, connecting piece, and original cloth hose. All attachments are in good...

    My Filter Queen 350!

Thanks, Packardmanken! Here are a few pictures of the wire attachment holder -- the "crown," shall we say? -- holding the attachments, then without them so you can see how it's constructed. The coiled segment is intended to hold the cord up out of the way. I also show two rug tools. The one...

    My Filter Queen 350!

I'd love to find those wands, kenkart! They sound beautiful.

    My Filter Queen 350!

I love it, Tom, and am so glad to have it doing its magic in my home. Never fear; I am hanging onto that wire attachment holder! I'd also be interested in one of the "shoebag" ones if any come along...

    My Filter Queen 350!

Gary, it's mostly a combination of personal preference and space issues. The way my house is set up, there wouldn't be any particular advantage to having the FQ on casters. Of course I have the casters available just in case.

    My Filter Queen 350!

My preference is to have the FQ be as close to original condition as possible, but only remove what gets in the way. I wouldn't modify the machine itself, of course! The factory tools are fine for my purposes, and I'm really pleased with the set that came with this one.

    My Filter Queen 350!

Thanks, suckolux! I'm thrilled with this FQ! Interesting idea, delaneymeegan. My main reason for not using the casters is that the machine needs to sit flat on a wooden staircase during part of her journey through my house. Wheels would be a set-up for disaster!

    My Filter Queen 350!

Meet Sheila, my "new" Filter Queen 350! This is an incredible machine, as I'm sure many of you already know. She came with casters and a wire tool caddy, both of which I set aside for the sake of convenience and because I think she looks cuter without them. I also supplied a dark brown hose...

Attachments & Bags for Hoover 700 or 725

The downsizing continues! Up for consideration is a set of attachments intended for the Hoover 700 and 725. It includes the original box (very worn at the corners). Inside are the black cloth hose, two-part wand set, crevice tool, upholstery brush, and connector -- all in fantastic condition...

    Apex Upright and Hand Vac

I need to downsize and am hoping that someone here would be able and willing to care for these Apex vacuums as they deserve. My understanding is that Apexes don't come around very often! The first is an Apex upright, model 600, dating from around 1948 (I believe). The bag is original, as far as...
