    Spooky Scary! AGAIN!!

Yikes, even scarier is her feedback rating, LOL.

A wonderful day in St. Louis

Almost forgot... The two truckloads that were brought home yesterday yielded to about 60 machines. According to what Tom said, that didn't even make a dent in it! Simply amazing!

A wonderful day in St. Louis

Thanks guys...I for one am VERY excited about going up there for the Vacuum Collectors Association (VCA) Convention in June and checking the place out! One of the things that I forgot to mention that I am also interested in is a 1970's Premier/GE swivel-top canister that is equipped with a power...

    Lewyt gasket still needed...

If you're going to the Convention in St. Louis in June, you can probably just get a Big Wheel for free. Tom said there were several Big Wheels in the treasure trove.

A wonderful day in St. Louis

My friends Tom Gasko and Derreck Fricke had a WONDERFUL day in St. Louis today. They went to a vacuum shop that's been open for 40 years and were allowed to go through the basement. What treasures they found...there were THOUSANDS of vacuum cleaners in the basement <br Tom told me that he got...

Does someone have one of these they would sell??

^^^ Seemed inevitable to me, LOL. As the first generation of all-plastic Eurekas (that is with the exception of the metal baseplate and beater bar...), it is to my understanding that these Ultra machines were not very well made, which explains why they aren't exactly prevalent today. That was...

For Tom Anderson.........A Kind of a Hoover Find.........

On a completely unrelated note... In a 1987 report (forgot which month), CR tested an electric Lawn-Boy along with others. It was one of two electrics (the other was a Snapper) that could handle 7" tall grass without bogging down. That says a lot for an electric! While they had a picture of...

    Hoover Convertible U4047

I have to admit, I love the sound of the 50's-early 60's Convertibles. There's definitely more of a "whine" present on startup than there is with the 70's machines...seems to bear a striking resemblance to the 60-series "pre-Convertibles" in my opinion. My 65, 31, and 68 sound completely...

    The new Spinnergy...

Hello This is my Eureka 102 stick vac. It is very powerful. It is also very noisy. I think that it is the noisiest machine ever made! It is still cool though.

    The new Spinnergy...

Hello This is my 1985 Dazey Vac-Man. I like it! It works very well!

    The new Spinnergy...

Oy, yet another bagless vacuum that most likely doesn't work worth a s**t. I'll have to ask Tom about this one.

    Latest restoration project .

Hi Fred, When it comes to bearings and removing old grease, Varsol will do the job just fine. Chem-Dip IS a type of carburetor cleaner and is overkill for this type of use. --Austin

How many of you use vintage machines to clean your house's?

It will soon be a 2003 Kirby Ultimate G once I get finished But here's what I'm using right now as the main vacuum for my room...the 1940's Hoover Model 61 from Greg. I do have my Eureka 630D in here as well, so the 61 isn't used too frequently. For the occasional above-the-floor cleaning, I...

    oh my god

Where's your PROOF? You don't need a camera to read a nameplate and find out the city in which it was made...

    oh my god

Post a picture of it. Also, check the nameplate, it should give you a location of manufacture...where in Ohio was it made?

    Thane H20 vac

The H2O is a NON-SEPARATOR water filtration vacuum, which doesn't compare to a fine machine like the Rainbow. I haven't used one, but from what I heard, they are difficult to clean, prone to rusting in the motor (from the wet exhaust due to the lack of a separator), and must be handled carefully...

    My new Broomy/Broom vac..

David, I agree, LOL! Except the Oreck is good enough to where I wouldn't want to smash it like I did with my BV.

    Let's Talk Miele

Fabulous brochure, I LOVE that 1972 model. I have to say, the 1962 model also bears a resemblance to the Canadian Electroluxes as well. My favorite Mieles have to be the Universal Uprights. One of these days...

    dial-a-matic power drive

Congratulations on the DAM. The reason these are so loud is because they're clean-air machines, therefore they use a canister motor. You'll also find that if your machine has a tool kit or you obtain one, the tool suction is on a par with most canisters; very powerful. At least until the suction...

How to replace a Eureka bulb?

It's a bayonet bulb...the 15-watt "appliance bulbs" that you can find at the hardware store work perfectly.
