    Electrolux 560

Hello everyone. Been a long time since I've posted on here, but I have recently obtained a 560. It's in fantastic condition inside and out, the only thing that isn't just so is that it has had a later style replacement brushroll with 2 strips of brushes rather than 1 brush and one plastic...

question about symbol on my Miele Plus

Economy Setting Miele vacuums are so powerful (have yet to use anything with better suction, not even my Filter Queen), that the economy setting should be more than enough for the vast majority of cleaning tasks. Matt

    Numatic/Henry

Numatic My parent's have one, a Hetty. They have very strong suction, huge dust bags and are very well made and simple. They have the airobrush, it is indeed very effective, about on par with my Filter Queen with the power nozzle. Has more suction than the Filter Queen which helps I guess...

    hoover sovereign.......

In England, the verb is to "Hooverize"... Really!? I've never heard anyone use that term in all my life! Lovely machines though, build quality was not the best but the performance certainly more than makes up for it! Anyway, must dash now, off to "Hooverize" the carpets *LOL* Matt

    Electrolux 612

I like Dysons Just much prefer the later models over the DC01, DC02 or DC03. They had to start somewhere though! Matt

    Electrolux 612

Hi Simon Definately revolutionary at the time, you could almost get away with selling them now (albeit with less 80s styling perhaps). David, I have an original Contour 'Varipower', that replaced my Mum's Hoover Junior back in 1993, a very powerful and effective cleaner I find! IIRC the ESP...

    Electrolux 612

Rob! Thanks ever so much for posting that! Something have been looking for. Just wish mine had beater bars now! Ahhh memories of the 614 in our neighbours garage next to the Hotpoint 93582 Dryer come flooding back.... Matt

    Electrolux 612

Hi guys Thanks, the more I hear about these vac's the happier I am about my purchase. I'd never really thought about them much before, never used one, have just seen them in neighbour's garages, most people I knew had the 500 series or the later Glider and Contour models. Seems strange that...

    Electrolux 612

James! You're a star! Cutting and reattaching it worked PERFECTLY!!! I'll post a pic once I've removed all the sticky sellotape crap off of it lol. Roll on Wednesday morning, so I can get a belt! Matt

The hose Hi Pete, I've never seen that silicone glue before, I'll have a look into that, thanks. Hi James, Love your 600s! I knew two or three people who had the 614 for YEARS. If I can't find any way of sorting it out without shortening it (not that it would make much difference) I'll have...

    What is the WROST vacuum?

brushrolls in Dysons are useless Thats a bit of a sweeping statement... To some extent I would agree with you, if you are reffering to the helix brush roll, I'm not overly keen on that one, but Dyson use more than one style of brush roll, and the helix one does seem to be the least effective...

    Filter Queen

Don't get me wrong The suction is very powerful, just not as powerful as a Numatic or a Miele, given their price new and the prestigious reputation they have, I expected a lot more. The crackling noise is only there when it's completely empty, as soon as theres a bit of fluff in it it seems to...

    Electrolux 612

Thanks guys! I really like it, just wish the vacuum shop would hurry up and open so I can get a new belt, bags and filters and really try it out! Now just to find a new filter door and hose.... Would be nice to get a new brushroll at some point too, bearings are starting to go in this one. Matt

    Filter Queen

update having used it for a while, I have to say, I'm not that impressed. Comparing it to my Mum's numatic Hetty the other day, it does infact weight slightly more, and certainly has noticably less suction that the numatic! It's quite clumsy and uncomfortable to use, I still have to get a new...
