    Kirby G6 help

He did try to do the repair himself but it's now in the shop and will be ready this afternoon. He said he was surprised at the number of screws in the body while trying to get to the inside to fix the switch. Roger Brown

    Kirby G6 help

Thanks I told him that I thought it might need to be worked on by an expert but he said he'd try it first. Since he is very mechanically inclined, perhaps he will get it working without aid. His wife wants it fixed NOW! Since they've received the vac, he has done all the vacuuming. Roger Brown

    Kirby G6 help

A few months ago, I gave a neighbor my G6 Kirby and they are thrilled with the machine. However, this morning he came in with the neutral/drive switch, including the pin which came out of the machine yesterday. It still works but is locked in the drive mode right now. Is this something that's...

    Any info on this vacuum?

Could it be.... An Emer? This looks very similar to an Emer I have, especially the power head. Roger Brown

    Bags at Wal-Mart

Had a bit of a surprise today at Wal-Mart. I found our store stocking the type L bag for my Eureka Powermite. Arm & Hammer brand and $5.97 for three bags but they had them. Too bad they no longer have the vacuum. I love mine for what it can do. Also, they had bags from A&H for Kirby...

    Fantom Wildcat

This is only a guess But, could that be a runner? It appears to stick out far enough to match the position of the rear wheels allowing you to lay the vacuum down when using the tools and use it much like a cylinder vacuum. Roger

    Compact hose and Polish Aire

Last year I bought a Compact Electra off E-Bay but forgot about it till Tuesday. Did some cleanup and wanted to try it out but the hose is shot. So, today, I decided to get a replacement. The vac shop I usually try was closed so I went to the other shop in town. Owner told me they don't do...

    smart vac question, please help!

noise level Bobby, Can you tell me what you think of the noise level? We had one at the Lane Bryant store where I worked part time. Vac worked wonderfully but I remember it being something of a screamer. Been looking at the new version in Wal-Mart, thinking of getting one for the collection...

    Electrolux

even closer! Richard, Just up the road in Vero Beach. Truthfully, not heavily into Electrolux (should be with the number of units my parents had!) but do love the older, quieter models. That model F is the first Electrolux that I remember. Roger

    New Electro Hygiene 880!

I'm confused What was the purpose of the removable head? From the pictures, you had to have the head attached in order to use the converter to hook up the hose so it wasn't to make it easier. Makes no sense to me. Roger Brown

    Electrolux Model CB

Ah, memories..... Our family had a restaurant/bar/bowling alley business during the years I was growing up. Since I liked to vacuum, that became my job. My mother was a devoted Electrolux user - so much so that she bought a new Electrolux every year! The new model went to our home. The unit...

    Mystery Royal

answers, etc.... The home buyers rented for a year before buying and I loaned the Royal to them when they wanted to clean the carpets. They loved it and made it a part of the deal. Needed to sell that home and THAT was more important than the vac. Anyway, I thought I could get another...

    Mystery Royal

Hopefully, you can help me. In 1976 or 1977 I purchased a Royal upright with tools. The bag on the vac was a denim, or denim looking, material. Great vac, got lots of use and the buyers of the home insisted that the vac go with the home. Been trying to remember the model number so I can find...

    Hoover Concept One

update I replaced both the brush roll belt and drive belt as well as both lights and I can't believe the difference! This is really a very good vacuum! Most of the jerky motion in the drive is gone and it really seems to pick up from the carpet. Nice grooming, too. But, I could only get one...

    Hoover Concept One

Last week I was given a Hoover Concept One Power Drive. The serial number tells me it was made in 1991 and it is in very good condition, especially for being plastic. However, it needs new belts and the brushroll looks like it needs replacement. The bristles have a tapered end as if they are...

    Exhaust direction on canister vacs

I remember that problem all too well.... Had a BOL Air-Way tank - can't remember the model at the moment but it looked like a Royal tank - which had the exhaust coming straight out the back. Great vacuum in all respects EXCEPT for the eshaust. I had it blow things off tables, walls and, on...
