    Filteraire vs. Filtrete Vacuum Bags

The commercial Eureka I recently acquired uses Eureka LS bags. These are marked "Filteraire", and I assume they have some sort of microfiltration. So far I haven't found any non-Eureka versions of the LS bag. I am wondering how the paper media in the Filteraire LS bag compares to bags made by...

    Commercial Eureka Model C5712A

The Eureka C5712 is very similar to Sanitaire SC5713 The Sanitaire SC5712 is the one on the left. The main differences: 13 inch wide nozzle on Sanitaire SC5713, 12 inch wide on Eureka C5712; Washable HEPA std on Sanitaire SC5713, dispo HEPA std on Eureka C5712(but washable HEPA filter avail...

    Commercial Eureka Model C5712A

Do you have a link to the Contour model in question? I ask because I searched the web for Contour vacs, and came up with several hits, but none of them are remotely similar to the C5712. The closest match I've found is a couple of Sanitaire models, which vary slightly in amps, cord length, and...

Advice Needed - Best Upright for Health Reasons?

I just got a commercial Eureka bagged vacuum with "True HEPA" sealed final filtration. It's basically the same as the Sanitaire bagged/HEPA vacuums. This general design always gets ery good reviews in Consumer Reports. The final HEPA filter keeps the air in the room clean. The vacuum itself is...

    Home made cyclonic bagged vacuum.

I've had a cyclonic bagged vacuum for about seven years now. It's a Bissel Butler cannister vac. It has a smallish cone shaped cyclone on the telescopic extension wand, plus a regular paper bag inside the cannister. The floor nozzle is rudimentary, no rotating brush roll of any kind...

    Commercial Eureka Model C5712A

Thanks, David. I thought of taking pics, but the machine is exactly the one you posted earlier in the thread. But I could take some shots of the bag compartment and heavy gauge extra long electrical cord... I suppose... lol... I'm a little concerned about the dimming light... this means a...

    Exclusively Eureka

Well, none of them probably will ever be collector's items (although you never know!), but I have, now, four Eurekas. The oldest is their original dual-chamber Whirlwind bagless design. Then a full size single chamber bagless Whirlwind with pleated filter (quieter motor than the original model...

    Commercial Eureka Model C5712A

Yes, it uses LS bags I got the vac tonight after work, and just assembled it and used it for the first time. It does use type LS bags, as well as a HEPA filter. First impressions: This cleaner is pleasantly quiet. This is a nice change from the bagless vacuums I've been using, which tend to...

    Vax vs. Bosch

Yes, that's the one. Vax's may be available on-line, but when I searched for it I was only interested in reviews/opinions. The filter-in-dust-cup is a turn-off for me. I have a bagless Eureka Whirlwind with the in-cup pleated filter, and it's just a big pain to clean. In fact I prefer the...

    Invincible Wheeled Cannister Vacuum

I noticed the DC designation on the emblem, and wondered why it was there. 10 amps of DC 115 volts must have packed quite a wallop :)

    Vax vs. Bosch

In the course of searching around for vacuum info on the web, I ran across the Vax brand. It looked a lot like the Bosch upright, and sure enough, I found out that Bosch makes the Vax cleaners. I was interested in various features, such as the integrated handle/attachment wand, the bottom...

    Invincible Wheeled Cannister Vacuum

Tank type? I suppose "Invincible Wheeled Tank Type Vacuum Cleaner" would be a better description of this unit.

    Commercial Eureka Model C5712A

Swingette, I got the impression that the commercial Eureka uses LS bags from their web site, which has a link to accessories for the model - and that brought up the LS bags. I will be checking more on this over the weekend. I can get the $200 C5712A for $150 then.

    Hoover FloorMate

I generally sweep the kitchen floor before using the Floormate on it. As a dry vacuum it's just not very good - the small opening for the squeegeetends to clog with dirt easily, as well as push it out of the way instead of sucking it up. As a wet vac, it's just fine.

    Commercial Eureka Model C5712A

Yes, that's the one. So far I've noticed that the power cord is longer (40 feet). The bags may be different as well. The C5712A uses "LS" bags, whereas I *think* the residential model uses "R" bags.

    Hoover FloorMate

The Floormate can be used on wood floors, although I would recommend the floors have a polyurethane finish. The machines typically come with a bottle of Lysol floor cleaner for vinyl/tile, and Old English floor cleaner for wood flooring. The Floormate may not be able to get into crevices like...

    Commercial Eureka Model C5712A

I am considering adding a Eureka bagged "True HEPA" vacuum to my collection, model C5712A. This is the type with the bag enclosed in a hard plastic bin, so that the outflow air can be HEPA filters (thus neatly solving the dust spewing issue... I think!). Anybody have an opinion on this vac? I'm...

Advice Needed - Best Upright for Health Reasons?

I'm wondering if getting rid of all carpet and going with hard flooring (wood or tile) would be the healthiest all around. You could still use a vacuum, but this would help eliminate the dust/mites that all carpets harbor, no matter how good the vacuum cleaner.

    Invincible Wheeled Cannister Vacuum

70-80 years old would put it around... 1926-36, right? Seems about right to me. Probably was more industrial/commercial, but I could see it being used in hotels/restaurants. Certainly a lot of capacity between bag emptyings. One of these days I'll redo the upper part in hammer blue finish, and...

    Invincible Wheeled Cannister Vacuum

Thanks. I figure it's at least 30 years old, maybe 50. No idea, really. I've done some Googling on the Invincible vacuum company but come up with nothing.
