Moral question about a Kirby Classic III Rebuild

Ok, some photos... I had already put some of the minor new parts on before I took the before pic, so the old parts are in the photo in front of the Kirby.

    3/17, Saturday's Auction find, FILTER QUEEN'S!

Kirbysthebest Glad to know not to try that with a Rainbow now because I was thinking about it. My friend Bruce was concerned that I would burn up the Rainbow though by blowing water up in the motor. Glad you shared that so I know not to do it. But yeah, it worked great with the filterqueen.

What brand of vac, is a true hepa filter.

Kirby will always be the way to go! If someone isn't phyisically able to use one then they probably shouldn't be doing their own cleaning anyway.

Moral question about a Kirby Classic III Rebuild

Jason No problem, I totally understand about the belt lifter label. It's taken me since 2000 to decide to recondition my grandma's Classic III. 1978, really? That's cool. I hadn't realized they'd made that change in '78 but it's good to know, I appreciate that information.

    This Mornings Stellar FINDS!!!

Power head in second photo The Electrolux powerhead in the second photo is the same as the one my mom had when I was a kid. I haven't seen one of those in years. I have no idea what year my mom's was or model...just that my sister and I always said it was an Electrolux-AntiChrist. I don't know...

Awesome find! Great find Tyson! You will love it! The missing bumper should be easy enough to find. Kirby's are the best.

What brand of vac, is a true hepa filter.

HEPA There are 13 levels of HEPA filtration. The Federal minimun standard for a product to me HEPA compliant is level 3. Most use level 3, a couple brands use level 5. Kirby uses HEPA level 11. I know you said that she would prefer a canister, but Kirby is going to be the best for...

    3/17, Saturday's Auction find, FILTER QUEEN'S!

Hello I don't know a whole lot about Filter Queen. They're nice looking machines. But I wanted to share...a few summers back I was just playing around at my friends vacuum shop and I took a Kirby Classic Omega and a Filter Queen (I don't know what model, just dark brown)...anyway, I used the...

Moral question about a Kirby Classic III Rebuild

Also... Jason, I noticed that your Classic III must be from 1979 as the cord hooks where moved to the outside of the handle away from the bag. Mine is from 1976 and the hooks are on the inside by the bag. LOL, I had no reason for pointing that out, just an observation.

Moral question about a Kirby Classic III Rebuild

@ compactelectra Hi, thanks for the photo of the Kirby Co's polishing equipment. Wow! That's pretty impressive. I do all my own buffing. I use the high speed buffing wheels at my friend's vacuum repair shop. First I use the wire wheel to get out scratches then I work on deep tarnish and stains...

Got all the trim for the reconditioning... Well today I got all of the trim pieces I would need for the reconditioning. Tomorrow I just have to take it in and buff all the aluminum castings on the buffing wheel. But today I gathered the following, all of which are genuine Kirby parts...
