That was my first thought too, the trim on a late 1950s car.

Best small non-natural fiber dusting attachment?

Could be an animal welfare consideration which is not a bad thing, but when horses die they all end up in a rendering plant unless the owner decided to bury it like a pet. The hair comes off and is used for paint brushes and vacuum dusting brushes. Nothing goes to waste. I'm not a vegetarian...

Best small non-natural fiber dusting attachment?

The third dusting brush all the way on the bottom is what came with my Metrovac Evolution canister and it works very well. I have that same dusting brush on top and it is horrible. The bristles are much too short and stiff. I much prefer a horse hair brush like that third one but mine with...

    The new Air-Way Ultra Kleen

In Europe people use Mieles with paper bags that leak like sieves. Over there Miele is just another vacuum, nothing special. If you want to see some truly grody, beat up Mieles being serviced there is a Youtube channel for a German vacuum tech called Staubsaugerservice Albay. He yaks away in...

    New Miracle Mates

They are brutally well made machines but very heavy. Talking to them again while trying to get parts for the CMB power nozzle that came with my M-M Platinum I was told they are not casting new bodies. They are refinishing used bodies and putting new motors, switches and other components in...

    Wanting to Test Vacuums

Stochastic means random. There is nothing random about the rate of dust removal per pass. It is a negatively sloping curve. The first pass gets the most dirt, and each subsequent pass removes less. Nothing even a tiny bit random about that.

In the fullness of time I will acquire one of these with the Whirlpool / Panasonic power nozzle.

    Wanting to Test Vacuums

Again, wrong. The rate of removal per pass is not random if the test procedure is correctly accomplished. The rate of removal should be a line of decreasing slope. That is not what you get with a random distribution.

    Wanting to Test Vacuums

I'm also laughing because system effectiveness is a key performance parameter in weapon's development and procurement. It is the furthest thing from random. There are deliberate well considered choices made in terms of materials, number and complexity of features, sensor types and...

    Wanting to Test Vacuums

The removal of dust from carpet by a vacuum is not random. "System effectiveness" as you call it is not random. The more passes, the more dust is removed. The relationship is probably not linear and will differ for every different kind of vacuum but that does not make it random. You don't...

Here it is, my heavily abused Dyson DC07 All Floors(USA edition)

I have been known to fashion patches out of material cut from plastic food containers and reinforce cracks like those from behind by stop drilling the end(s) of the crack then epoxying the patch across the crack from behind. Sometimes I have to pull the crack tight with tape while the epoxy...

    Wanting to Test Vacuums

I just retired from one of the US Navy's premier R&D labs after a good long and interesting career in the weapons world. You are not going to bs me on anything related to stat or math but you have managed to bamboozle a bunch of honorable vacuum enthusiasts who don't have my math background...

USA Semiquincentennial in 2026 - Anniversary Models?

Some group of enthusiast entrepreneurs should buy the rights to the Tristar, Compact, Revelation and Interstate Engineering Company names from Aerus and revive Tristar. To make the business case a revived Tristar, considering the tariffs Jupiter ( the orange colored gas giant ) imposed on...

    Wanting to Test Vacuums

Unless you are blind testing a random sample of machines unknown to you before the test you emphatically do not have a stochastic process. If you are selecting the vacuums to be tested than the test cannot be stochastic. Stop throwing around technical jargon when you don't have the slightest...

    Pick your poison: Main equivalency!

He's telling the truth. But you have probably never used one of those wonderful Swedish made Electrolux cylinder vacs with their excellent Ze3 power nozzle. I have a few, different models ranging from 1980 through 2010 and just paid a thoroughly ridiculous tariff and brokerage fees to bring...

    The new Air-Way Ultra Kleen

I have two Miele canister vacs, an S558 and a C2 Compact Electro. Both use the FJM bag. I always use genuine Miele brand dust bags. I never use any other brand of dust bag in them. They leak dust at the seal to the spout in the lid. This story that somehow Miele brand bags are automatically...
