    Sebo X4 Hard to Push

I wonder if the bag light system is working properly? Does it come on if you pull the hose out and block the end with your hand?

    Dyson dc07

From what I have seen a lot of 120 volt Dysons have Panasonic motors and 240 volt Dysons have YDK motors. Not 100% but that is the trend.

    Sebo X4 Hard to Push

This is an example of why I prefer the non automatic G series. Simple and analog.

Help me decide: Nilfisk GD930, or Aerus, or something else

Aerus stopped making new Tristar vacuum in September 2021 but there are still new ones left over in the warehouse. Miracle Mate is a Tristar copy with a retractable cord, which makes them a bit larger and heavier. But the layout is the same as a Tristar and they literally use the exact same...

    Sebo X4 Hard to Push

In the US at least Sebo has outstanding low prices for bags, filters and normal wear items, great customer service and fast shipping. I have never had to wait for anything on back order ordering directly from Sebo.

    Door to Door Brands.

I honestly don't understand how they and Filter Queen stay in business. I am always surprised to see F-Qs turning up used on Japanese on-line flea markets.

    Door to Door Brands.

I called them last year. They still make them but they are made to order now, pay up front and not cheap.

    Sebo X4 Hard to Push

I am going to guess the brush roll is worn out. On other vacuums the "hard to push" symptom is frequently due to a worn out brush roll. Just a thought.

    Pick your poison: Main equivalency!

You have to scroll down a bit but this old LA Times article from July 1945, two months before the end of WWII shows Interstate Aircraft selling their aircraft manufacturing side to Harlow Aircraft to concentrate on making vending machines, small gasoline engines, refrigeration compressors and...

    The cordless stick vac formfactor

Quite a few Japanese canister vacuums have auto shakers to shake the dust bag to clear any clogs that may have developed and my Sanyo Airsis bagless vacuums have an automatic scraper that runs a nub across the back of the big pleated filter in the back of the dust bin to knock any stuck shmutz...

    The cordless stick vac formfactor

Gtech putting the dust bin right behind the brush roll in the base reminds me of the layout of the Miele Art. It's almost a scaled up version of our Panasonic Rulo robot vac with a handle on it. A 40 minute run time is nowhere near enough for even a quick run through our living areas and the...

Main Equivalency! Which one would you take?

Hyla is a copy of a Rexair Rainbow. That cyclonic separator dates to the very first Rexair from 1935.

Help me decide: Nilfisk GD930, or Aerus, or something else

A deep pile rug will not be cleaned well without a power nozzle. A quality power nozzle should not damage a carpet unless it is something specialized and fragile like Berber. But if you have a builders grade deep pile carpet like our first house came with you definitely need a power nozzle or...

Kenmore handle release pedal and bearings

You can push it off, with strength ( ! ), from underneath using a flat blade screwdriver preferably with a wide blade. That is how I do it. Let the neck fall backwards a bit to release the tension on the center of the release pedal.

    Pick your poison: Main equivalency!

Howard Hughes commissioned Interstate Aircraft to make a vacuum for his TWA airliners during WWII. Interstate Aircraft was owned by a personal Friend of Howard Hughes, a man who co-designed Hughes pre-WWII racing airplanes. Howard Hughes specified the vacuum had to be small enough to fit under...

    The cordless stick vac formfactor

Yep. I proved that Dyson did not invent the bagless cyclonic vacuum and provided the actual 1920 patent for separator used in the first bagless cyclonic vacuum. Here's the deal. Dyson saw the separators used in industrial setting and got the idea to design a vacuum around it. But he was not...

Miele Guard L1 vs old C3 - airflow through the hose?

A modern Kenmore 600 puts anything Miele makes to shame for airflow. 72 cfm at the hose end. No other vacuum from any manufacturer that I have measured can match that. The best Miele is around 60 cfm. The 600s attachments, hose and power nozzle are vastly better than anything Miele ever...

Help me decide: Nilfisk GD930, or Aerus, or something else

Miele's used to be a high quality vacuum but those days are long behind them. They have a lot of aggravating shortcomings such as a short but ridiculously stiff hose that fights you, tries to kink ( and often succeeds ! ) and sometimes flips the canister over, really small low quality standard...

    The cordless stick vac formfactor

Your "supporting material" has no factual basis. It is nothing but marketing lies. Here is the 1920 patent for the Newcombe Dust Separator that was used in the very first bagless cyclonic vacuum that hit the market in 1926. https://patents.google.com/patent/US1420665A/en

    The cordless stick vac formfactor

There was a comment that Kenmore canisters leak a lot of dust that I was responding to. I have used Kenmore canister vacuums since 1969 and that OG Kenny still runs and cleans as well as the day we bought it though it definitely has the patina of use, so I have maybe a different perspective on...
