    Better filtration for electrolux

Andy R... I've also had issues with the genuine Home Solutions bags. I've even had two that developed small holes in them, allowing dirt to enter the motor and bag compartment.

    How were these?

My neighbor still uses a similar machine, they have very little carpet and they've had it as long as I've known them. I don't know much about it, but the filter inside the dirt bin looks interesting.

    Custom Central Vacuum Inlets

Definitely doable, the connection to the unit is a simple low voltage cable. You could find a normally open toggle switch, like what some alarm systems use on the hinge side of doors to detect openings, then drill the hole you mentioned and wire it up. It may be hard to find a NO contact, but...

    Oreck's full size cordless vacuum

I'm looking forward to adding one of these machines to my collection sometime. The battery placement looks a bit odd at first, but it makes sense. I've always been a fan of cordless uprights for collecting purposes, ever since my old Westinghouse Unplugged. I believe these have a two speed...

Biggest selling Vacs in the US?

Stores like Walmart have changed a lot of industries, including the vacuum cleaner industry. Most consumers walk into Walmart and they'll see the $39 Bissells on endcaps, a long line of Sharks ranging anywhere from $99-$250, a few additional Bissell models, a couple of Hoovers and Dirt Devils...

Not worth it: Riccar/Simplicity tandem air uprights

I had a tandem air Simplicity, I bought it for $100 from a Kirby dealer who got it as a trade in from an older woman. It hardly looked used, I doubt the bag was ever changed in it. I can't imagine anyone actually spending $1300 on one new, the cleaning performance was alright but it wasn't...

    Am I The Only One.....

Adin Raiche... Just ignore Alex, I think he gets a kick from being a senseless asshole toward his fellow collectors. He already had his panties in a bunch from people hating on his beloved Mieles. Back to the topic at hand, I prefer Miele in terms of ergonomics, but I prefer Sebo for...

    SEBO C canister 💦

I like mine quite a bit, it's really well made. Normally I go for my Miele C2 when I'm vacuuming my house but it's nice to have the Airbelt in my collection.

    So, what's up with Aerus/Electrolux?

I posted that and then realized my profile picture has three Aerus/Electrolux machines (there's part of a Floorpro hiding in the back) along with a jug of carpet shampoo lol. So, I definitely like their machines. But it's clear that the company as a whole isn't thriving as they once were

    So, what's up with Aerus/Electrolux?

I don't see Aerus going out of business entirely, but I also don't see them expanding much or being bought by anyone else. Someone mentioned the idea of TTI buying them, that'll never happen. There's a very very small handful of consumers who recognize the Aerus name, instead they recognize the...

    Oreck stores closing

The one near me is still an Oreck store, but they now carry Miele and Tacony products as well. They seem to talk down Oreck, they really aren't interested in selling them anymore. Miele makes superior machines so that is reasonable. Oreck products have their niche. But with more homes moving...

    What's Your Favorite Bagless Vacuum?

It took a while to think of this one. I thought maybe Filter Queen or the Fantom Thunder, maybe the Lightning. Or the Bissell Anna. I like all of those machines. But the vacuum that I go for the majority of the time is my Shark Ion P50. Now, I wish it were bagged. But from a consumer standpoint...

Why I think canisters aren't popular in United States anymore

I completely agree, I prefer central vacuums mainly because of their filtration. Unfortunately, the average consumer finds them more of a hassle and more cumbersome to use.

Bissell Quicksteamer Plus Model 1950 (FAIL)

There is no way that it has a "dirty air" design, the water is not designed to go through the fan. I had one of these many years ago, they're just cheaply made. I'd bet that the previous owner allowed a lot of water to get into the motor, possibly by not emptying it when it was full or even by...

    new Electrolux cordless

I was looking at this the other day, I've read a couple of articles that referenced the possibility of it coming to North America, but both articles were from 2018. I think there's a pretty slim chance of it making its way over here. I did, however, find an Amazon listing for one shipping from...

Why I think canisters aren't popular in United States anymore

I am definitely a younger collector, and I hardly have any interest in uprights at this point. While I do have a few, I much prefer my Electrolux, Filter Queen, and Miele canisters. My Miele C2 Electroplus has been my daily driver for the last year and a half, and it will remain my daily for the...
