    A Kirby C goes for a poultry sum...Oh, Nooooo!!!

Actually ... … what *I* think is "showing off" is bragging about how you procured a rare vacuum for "nothing". Much as we wish we did, some of us simply do not have the time or the flexibility to devote to the "hunt" that some of you apparently do. Nor do we have the space or resources (or...

    Hoover Model 28

How do you guys ... ... who use vacs like these as daily drivers, deal with the dust issue of the shake-out bags? Meaning, the increased dust output while vacuuming (those things aren't HEPA filters, after all). And how do you keep the bags from getting smelly? Very curious here.

What year did this Eureka Vacuum come out??

Even if it was just $60 ... ... in 1974, that would still be $275.52 in today's dollars.

What year did this Eureka Vacuum come out??

"Only $80"?? In 1974 (which is presumably the year of manufacture for this model), $80, adjusted for inflation, would be $367 today.

    Vacuum for my mother-suggestions

If she's looking for "rugged" ... "I know when handling an upright Vacuum mum will treat it like the old 1960's Hoover Senior we had when I was a kid, i.e. it might have to be rugged !" She may be disappointed with just about anything in that price range, unfortunately.

Needing a new every day vacuum - Advice

Benny ... "...despite all the UK comedy shows which have been enjoyed by those in the USA, few seem able to visualise just how small the rooms in many UK homes are." Same here for New York City-based shows. "Friends", "Seinfeld", and "Mad About You" immediately come to mind. Now, back in the...

Needing a new every day vacuum - Advice

If you have a pet ... … don't even consider a vac that doesn't include its own ELECTRIC powered upholstery brush. The "air turbine" brushes are a joke.

The big drawback of the Sebos ... … is their lack of a headlight.

    Childhood vac

LOL ... ... I keep forgetting how old I really am, hearing about how some of us "grew up" with Fantoms!

I just got ... ... an Aerus Lux Guardian Platinum. LOVE it. One of the best on the market for allergy sufferers.

    Childhood vac

My childhood vac ... This isn't my pic, but the upright on the left was the exact model as Mom's. Right down to the *milk* chocolate-colored vinyl bag, as opposed to the dark chocolate colored vinyl bag that came on some models that year (1967-68 I believe), and the dark chocolate heavy rubber...

    Metal or Plastic Fan?

My two cents ... … and I'm not claiming personal experience as either a consumer or a "servicer" of metal fans, but I can tell you that not all metal is created equal. Just because it's "metal" doesn't mean it's stronger than plastic. I've had several duffel/gym bags with shoulder straps made...

Increase in Vacuums in the trash?

And ... "P.S. Forget about public transport over here. Outside the major cities it effectively does not exist." Ditto here in the U.S.

I have absolutely no idea ... … what that guy just said.

Hoover Convertible with no model # stamp

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! And there was something about the feel of that cool, satiny finish on the metal attachments!

    New Carpet with Vacuum Limits

I wouldn't have believed it ... ... if I didn't see it for myself. I'd been using my Fantom Thunder since Day One with my new wool rugs (which I purchased 7 years ago). The one rug is vivid orange and red, so it was really apparent seeing the carpet fibers in the Fantom's dust bin. I knew...
