    Your listening space

I still work on tube televisions I grew up in the TV repair world whereas my father was an appliance engineer for Hotpoint. My primary hobby is indeed TV restoration with radios and appliances following closely. I have a bunch of tube TVs scattered around the house and I keep them running...

    Your listening space

Enjoy your vinyl any way you can! I really appreciate the resurgence of phonographs over the last few years. Sure it is fun to restore the old units... but that is not for everyone.. So much good music is locked up in vinyl I would advise people to pick up any phonograph, new or old and start...

    Your listening space

Hi Fi enthusiast here The living room is the "listening room" . Each evening over a cocktail or two we discuss the day and spin our vinyl. A lot of what we play is estate-sale finds which is kind of fun. We're big fans of Sinatra, Dinah Shore and Cugat. (If you don't have Cugie's...

    Was your family thrifty?

You're not alone for sure I admire you and your family's thrift. I am cut from the same cloth. My parents were both children during the Depression. My Father's side were middle-incomers of the time but my Mother's side was very poor. They both were thrifty but spent their money wisely. Buy...

I am so interested Our upstairs shower (which also includes multiple jets) leaks into the first floor so we don't use it any longer. As I am on an extended vacation for the next year, I'm tasked with getting that repaired. Of course this entails a partial remodel of our master bath. The...

Finally got my GE Stereo moved..

GE amplifiers were surprisingly good. I grew up (and still exist) in the electronics world. I still remember comparing designs of GE solid-state amplifiers (in their better consoles) versus the desirable component stereos of the day. Personally I felt GE put surprisingly good electronics in...

    Buick Lesabre Failing Window Regulators.

Oh yes... I had a 2003 DeVille. Three of the four regulators failed during its lifetime of 168000 miles. Usually the window failed down unfortunately. Service contract picked up all repairs as the regulators failed before it hit the 100000 mile mark.

    singer twin fan help request

Popping protection devices means there is a problem I've rarely seen protection devices fail. The motor is probably drawing too much current due to some sort of drag on the motor.
