The 2017 Convention is over. Such a GREAT time!

This event really sucked Hahahaha. Thanks Tom for your hospitality. I had a fabulous time. I couldn't believe how much accumulated knowledge was at that event. Tom set me up with a Hoover 543 that I had been looking for. Excellent project. Others popped out of the back room. My Coffee Can...

    2017 Vacuum convention

Hi all. Having a GREAT time. Tom has been a wonderful host. Starting to place faces with name. The museum is sooooo cool. Playing with coffee can Hoovers. On the other side, the cordless Simplicity is on a future buy list. Here's my "new" Kirby from Adam.

    Your thoughts???

vacuuming is a small fraction of cleaning "Cleaning" is too generic. Vacuuming primarily reduces dust volume in an area. As you sit down in your favorite chair, you are shedding 3,000,000 skin cells per hour. If you are moving around, up to 25,000,000 skin cells per hour. Add animals, and...

Kirby Heritage II or Kirby G3

Why do we buy different cars? Vacuum appeal is in the eye of the beholder. I love the G3 with its drive. It sits in the corner while my Classic III does its job. Since I switched to the 4 row brush roll, long hair is not a big issue. Needs detangling every three or four uses instead of every...

    My Line of Vacuums!

Left or right My Classic and Classic III have the cord holder on the other side - out of the way of the bag.

Is it crazy to love your Hoover Concept One U4201?!!?

Best Hoover upright? Coffee can Hoovers are crying for being snubbed. Who wouldn't love a 105, 541, 700, 725, 800?

    Kirby Kirby Kirby Kirby and...Kirby

Yikes. What happened???? I wanted to collect coffee can Hoovers. I have the 105, 700, and 725. Cool old vacuums, plus a dusting tool attachment kit. Not very exciting. I wanted gadgets. Then I found a $40 Classic III with a large assortment of tools. A $15 Tradition in excellent shape. A...

Kirby Heritage II or Kirby G3

Any Kirby will do I'm using a Classic III with paper bag setup. I changed to the four row brush roll. Big difference. Absolutely no problem with a German Shepherd and two cats. The problem I have is a wife with LONG HAIR. No way to work around.

    Vacuum Shipping Help

USPS and Fed Ex Both drop kicked my packages. The castings were wrapped pretty well with bubble wrap on all three - but if you bounce them off the ground a couple times, something will break. The rear wheels are super fragile. It's taken me MONTHS to find something suitable. I found a set...

    Vacuum Shipping Help

Depends on who you use to ship I had two 700's, and a 725 shipped to me in the last six months. Two of the three had smashed rear wheels. Those MUST be removed. Shipping charges were around $30 - $35 each for two boxes.

    What A Find !

Love the Hoovah 725 I got a pair of 725's plus an original dusting tool set in original box last year. One of the 725's is in good shape, and the other needs a heavy duty rehab. It has interesting differences between it and the 700.

    How much could I get?

One in a million if you have a one in a million vacuum, it means that you have one of a MILLION vacuums.

Daily Driver? Weekly Driver?! Monthly Driver??!

My weekly I vacuum weekly. Two cats and a German shepherd means lots of hair. My previous weekly driver was a Hoover bagless wind tunnel. Sucked up a lot of hair. Didn't lift the pile. My new-to-me Classic III with paper bag conversion and new 4 row brushroll have made a huge difference...

    VCCC or VL

What is the future of vacuum collecting? When I found an ad for an Electrolux model G languishing for two months, I responded. After a brief email exchange, I passed. I didn't want to move away from Hoover collecting. Then I latched on to the Classic III, and well, all bets were off. I saw...

    VCCC or VL

Tolerance and respect I was an undergraduate teaching assistant for a university in the early 80's. My boss was gay, but not out. In the public eye, he was "normal" in every way. He dressed "straight", talked "straight", and kept his private life private. My three co-workers and I were...

    Cats like vintage vacuums too?

I have a large German Shelherd who sheds buckets My German Sheperd sheds massive amounts of hair twice a year. I tried out the pet hair tool on my Classic III. Bad idea. She turned into 65 lbs of "I want out of here now". She got even with me later by attacking the flloor nozzle with her...

    this year's convention

St James here I come with questions I'll be driving solo. A 500 mile trip to St James, MO is doable. An 800 mile drive to Tulsa is too far for these old bones. I'm registered at the Baymont, arriving Thursday night. What do others generally bring? How many typically attend? Todd.
