    Dyson Pure Hot+Cool Link

Figured I'd do a little review / show of my Dyson Pure Hot+Cool Link as I'm quite impressed with it.

    What's Your Favorite Bag Type?

In terms of pure quality it has to be the new HyClean bags from Miele. Superb filtration and no noticeable airflow loss even with a bag thats 95% full

    Dyson V7

I see Dyson have added another model to their cordless machines. The V7. The V7 has the same new dirt ejection system as the V8, but has the suction power of the V6. The V7 also seems to be lacking the HEPA exhaust filter that is included on the V8. Very much a middle of the road machine...

    Dyson V8 Animal

Glad you're happy with your V8 too blakaeg... I'm still very pleased with mine in terms of performance and build quality over the V6. I use mine a few times a week. Once a week I clean my car with it, I do a 'big' clean once a week with my Kirby and use the V8 to do the stairs and things to...

Got rid of my iron and replaced it with....

Honestly, Chris, its the best thing I've bought in ages. Took a bit of getting used to but now I've used it a few times I fly through the ironing. Don't even need to put water in it for the steam... the heat and pressure of it clamping down leaves everything pressed to perfection. And you...

    HORRIBLE Kirby Distributor Experience!

I'd report that dealer to the Kirby head office. They'll soon sort them out

    Scary Vacuum Cleaners

Shortly after I was born my parents bought a Panasonic MCE43N. My mum used to leave the machine running by my cot on low power to help send me to sleep (maybe this is where my vacuum interest comes from??). I used to love this vacuum and as I grew up would play with / use it at every...

    Patience testing Kirby

Turns out when you replace the fan and all the associated washers and seals you should pack behind that little bugger with fresh grease. I've never had to do this on any other Kirby but as I'm quickly learning my Sentria likes everything done by the book. So once again I've had the bloody...

    Patience testing Kirby

So today.... I had a rather filthy car to clean - a family members car - mine gets a full clean once a week. Anyway it was pitted inside and was probably a bit too far gone to be using the Dyson V8 on it so I figured it was the perfect opportunity for me to put the Kirby through its paces and...

    Sebo X4 Concerning Sound

I believe it is a fault on the belts. I had an X4 pet boost machine do the exact same thing. Somebody that works for Sebo told me that it was something to do with the belts so before going down the warranty route I opened the machine up myself, checked all the teeth on both belts and also that...

    Some Kirby Questions

I agree. STOP using the machine till you have a rug plate for it. It won't be cleaning properly and you risk damaging / premature wear to both the brush roll and your flooring. As for lowering the height. Lower till the tone changes and then give it one more click down. I find if it doesn't...

    Patience testing Kirby

Bill Yes there was visible dust escape between the top of the fan chamber and headlight housing. When I removed the fan plate to apply the sealer there was also an amount of dust and fluff wedged between the two halves of the fan case at the top also. When I first cracked it open to fit the...

That's a very good question regarding a rubber gasket. Would make more sense

    Patience testing Kirby

And a quick polish to finish off with. Hopefully I won't have to strip it down again for many years. I've learned a few lessons along the way too... such as don't try to cut the corner of not sealing the fan case! Going to give it 24 hours to make sure the sealer has dried before using again...

    Patience testing Kirby

After cleaning up the excess silicone sealant that had been pressed out when tightening the fan case back up.... Small amount is visible inside of the fan case but this will wear off with use.

    Patience testing Kirby

At the end of last year / start of this year my Kirby developed a power supply issue. I opened up the machine, had a quick visual check for loose wires and blew the motor area out with compressed air as inside had built up a layer of light fluff and dust. The issue seemed to go away for a...

    Kirby fan change question...

I got the Kirby out tonight. Opened it up, loosened the fan off (it wasn't on as tight as I thought) and then retightened it finger tight and then a little extra pinch for good measure. I'm now happy that I've not over tightened. Also gave the machine a wipe down and a bit of a polish and may...

    Dyson V8 Animal

Yeah the V6 runtime is 20 minutes with a suction only tool attached, 16 minutes with a motorised tool and 6 minutes on MAX mode. The V8 is 40 minutes with a suction only tool, 25 minutes with motorised tool and 7 minutes on MAX mode. Charge time goes up from 3.5 hours on the V6 to 5 hours on...

This video made my laugh :)

LOL made me laugh too! I looked at buying a Rotator powered lift away a few months back as Rodger seems to rave about them on his youtube review videos but when I tried it out in store I found felt very cheap and plasticy. The lack of parts backup also put me off. Ended up buying a Miele instead
