    G.E. AVF 17-A VACUUM

GE That GE is the vac I grew up with. My brother was terrified of it.IT was my parents first vac bought in 1948. We had it until the early 70's. IT went to the repair shop many times. It just kept falling apart. In the end nothing stayed put anymore. The hose was very difficult to attach. When...

    MY CONVERTED KIRBY CLASSIC III

Kirby bag I had the Classic 3 and I had it converted to the F and G and it did not work right after that. I now have a rebuilt Legend 2 and I love it. You can't beat a Kirby on carpets. I recently bought a Filter Queen Majestic, had a new hose made for it,10 feet, bought some new tools and it...

Elite I have had a vac like that forever. Nice, simple and powerful. It now resides at my x's house. Never bought the tool set, not fond of front connections.

portable I had a portable i bought used, and it very poor suction. I did not know there was all those filters. Maybe it was clogged and I did not know it. The 1959 General Electric Upright

    1970's Sunbeam Mixmaster MMA

Sunbeam mma That Sunbeam is a model mm 100. It came with 2 glass bowls and beaters, no dough hooks. The model that followed this one came with the hooks and a more power full motor. The hooks work with this model, but don't push it too hard as it was not meant to knead. It is a great mixer, I...

    After 50 Years...The SunBeam meets it's match.

Sunbeam I love anything Sunbeam. Their motto used to be built with integrity, backed by service. Now it is here is a piece of crap that cannot be repaired. It hurts my heart. It is the brand I grew up with, sold and we had a repair service here in green bay. So sad...................

    My "new" Heritage II!

Kirby I just bought a Kirby Heritage from a dealer. It was fully rebuilt, looks and runs like new and shines like a dime. I love it.I probably paid too much, but he did give me a warranty, a pack of bags, all the attachments, and book. He has been a dealer here in GB for 52 years. I am...

    Buy old or new?

Kirby I bought the Kirby. It works and shines like new! I love the sound it makes when you adjust it to the right height. My carpets look better already! Nice tools, not like the junk they include these days.

    When it rains it pours!

Pansonic I had 2 of the 6220. One for home and for business back in the 80's. Much like a dial a matic, except the hose did not lock. The one bad thing about that vac, otherwise excellent and always top rated.

    Buy old or new?

Hoover I bought a Hoover Platinum, brought it and it would not start. The change bag light came on. Took it back and was told at Sears they have problems with them. Otherwise, would have liked it. Tried it in the store and was impressed. Chan

The Kirby Company: Models Through the Years

Legend 2 I asked for opinions last week weather to go old or new and no one replied. So I followed my own instincts and bought a rebuilt Kirby legend 2 today from a Kirby dealer who has been here 52 years. I bought a Classic 3 from him back in the 70's. This one is much quieter, easier to...

Hi, I am tired of my Kenmore Progressive canister and I want a good upright again. I recently purchased a Royal Commercial Lightweight for work. It is a Hoover Tempo in reality. It works very good on floors, but the tools are awful I purchased a longer hose and that helped but it is still...

    Sears

Sears They were nice at Sears and gave me a cash refund.I went to a vac shop and bought a Royal commercial. It looks like a Hoover Windtunnel. It is really powerful and lightweight. Bought the extra long hose to avoid any tipping as It too had the short useless hose.Does anyone try those...
