    Aerus Lux Platinum power nozzle

I checked with the branch manager who sold me the Platinum, David Smith in Winston-Salem, about availability of a power nozzle cover. He did not have one, so he emailed corporate. Their reply was that this early style is NLA. I did not know that there have been three versions of the Platinum...

    Aerus Lux Platinum power nozzle

Thanks Dan I'll check with the 2 branches near me. As of last November there were no parts available for the Platinum, other than bags and filters.

    Aerus Lux Platinum power nozzle

I love my Platinum and have kept it in nearly new condition since I bought it early last year, all the time using it as my primary vac. My wonderful wife decided to use it today and in less than an hour has seriously muffed the power nozzle top cover. If anyone knows where to find a new cover...

Visiting Tom and vacs and more vacs

Although I am not a frequent poster, I am a frequent reader of this forum. I was disappointed to see the related thread deleted yesterday. I would like to have seen the thread remain and truly offending entries removed as deemed necessary. There was a powerful lesson to be learned by this...

My New Aerus Vacuums - Part 3

Dan, I have had mine now one year and it is still the first vacuum I pull out of the closet to clean with. It does everything well - hard floors, rugs and upholstery. Filtration and odor control is far better than my Miele Aquarius and Miele Cat and Dog upright. And it is quieter, too. The...

My New Aerus Vacuums - Part 3

I think the key is how much you use the machine, that is, do you use it 2-3 times and put it away a few months? I would imagine that could be a situation where you will have a stinking bag. We use our Platinum on a regular basis, the bags get full and I change them.

My New Aerus Vacuums - Part 3

We have three inside cats, which is four too many, and a Welsh Corgi. I honestly have never smelled pet odor coming from the machine. Not once. However when I sucked up a stinkbug, that came through the charcoal filter just fine. I will be coming up on a year of use soon, and then I will...

My New Aerus Vacuums - Part 3

As far as I can tell over the last 10 months, no dust leaks at the bag collar when using current style bags. The early bags had thin cardboard and did deform enough under air pressure to leak. But those bags are long gone from branch stock. Where the bags do leak is at the very bottom, over...

Any Others Getting the call form Aerus/Lux

Hey Rob Everything sounds legit to me. Aerus is now based in Texas, and there is a large, succesful branch in Louisville, KY. It was a city loyal to Electrolux, and this branch did a better job at getting the word out about the name change than others. It is on South Hurstbourne Parkway in...

Ha, as I first looked at the photo I thought "Half Pint from 'Little House on the Prairie'"

My New Aerus Vacuums - Part 2

So, have there been different lots of bags made in China? I hear some "improved" bags leak and some don't. Mine certainly do. I got them late January - when did you all buy your pack of bags?

My New Aerus Vacuums - Part 2

piano god I agree with you. I've used only Hy Clean or Air Clean bags in my Aquarius since new. There is no visible dust in the bag chamber after 6 years. On the other hand, I have an Alto Attix 5 commercial canister that used a 12 gallon paper bag until 2 years ago, when Alto replaced the...

    My New Aerus Vacuums

Cliff, I asked my branch manager if there was a change in the paper since I got the PRC pack of bags, and he told me that the paper has been consistent all along according to corporate. However, there is a big territory meeting coming up soon and he will ask that question again. I, too, find...

    My New Aerus Vacuums

I wouldn't say they have corrected the bag problem yet. I have a pack of the Chinese bags with the improved thick collar and supposedly improved filter material. They still leak dust in my machine and are coated with fine dust when removed for disposal. At any rate, the pre-motor HEPA filter...

    My first Rainbow SE

That's the SE "Performance Edition". Someone told me there was a slight change to the motor over the regular SE, but it's heresay since I've not seen it in writing. I have one and it's a great performer!

    My New Aerus Vacuums

You know, we need to keep this in perspective. There is some dust leakage through the bags, but the bag cage doesn't look like a Dyson dust bin. I agree with cc that the HEPA premotor filter will keep the motor perfectly clean, and this is overall a small issue on a great machine. I'm sure...

    My New Aerus Vacuums

I have had a Platinum 10 days now I wanted to have some time with the vacuum before I made comments about it, so that it might be grounded in experience rather than first impressions. A Miele Aquarius, the S5 model under the Capricorn, has been the daily machine since I bought it early 2008...

Modern Vac / Arus-Lux knock off?

Thanks, I'll check it out. The machine I have is a Viking 739, not 748. John
