    Electrolux Model G

I have a factory rebuilt model G with the metal tag affixed. I love it. Both it and my model 89 are the two most used vacs in the house. Both are quiet and they roll around on the hard floors effortlessly. Plus bag changing is a snap. You can't get much easier.

    Is This Rare?

I wouldn't say it's rare yet. I bought one when new and wasn't impressed because it tended to scatter sand and grit while vacuuming the stairs more than it sucked up. You could feel the stuff hitting your arms and face and I stopped using it. . Plus for some reason dog hair really stuck to...

    Vintage Vacuums and Future Collectors

It must be wonderful to go to work everyday to a job you love. I liked my job for most but the final few years where I hated it but I never loved it. re the antique wooden bellows sweepers. I have an immaculate Pneu-Vac and I've noticed others on Ebay much like it or maybe identical exept in...

    Vacuum(ing) Or hoover(ing)

My parents emigrated to Canada only a few short years before I was born here. Oovering was the term they used and even though we had a Kenmore it was called the oover or mom was oovering. I think it wasn't until I got to Kindergarten that I found out it was called a vacuum cleaner and people...

Canadian and US Versions of Electrolux Vacuums

Doug what was the story again about the Super J iirc being sold in Canada for a period. I've often wondered why Electrolux chose to manufacture a near completely different machine for the Canadian market, they were really the only company that did it. All the other US appliance manufactures...

    I Feel Lost...

When the Vacuumland site was run by the VCCC it was NOT FREE.. Who do you think was paying for it, where did the money come from to store all those webpages and pay the web server providers? I was and so were about a hundred other people by sending them a check every year for $35 (7 years for...

    Have you used a Keurig?

As much as I love gadgets, not this one. My sister was gifted one from her boss last Xmas and she's not happy with how huge it is either nor the price of the cups at around 50 to 75 cents a piece. With the bother of the re-usable cups it's not really any easier than making a coffee in a regular...

Do Dyson's Really Rip Up Carpet? Or Is It Just The Underwhelming Quality Carpets These Days?

Firstly the article is almost 5 years old. Secondly this was new carpeting she installed and any vacuum cleaner is going to fill a bag or two of carpet fibers/fluff intially. It's exactly what happened when we moved into our new house with new wall to wall carpeting. I was shocked at the amount...

Are We Ever Going To Get Any Decent Bagged Upright Vacuum Cleaners In The UK?

As much as I love my Kirby's they are at times a bit unwieldly I think and again it depends on the style and layout of your house. In our Calgary house which was very open and spacious bi- level and almost fully carpeted they were fantastic excepting for the carpeted stairways. Our house here is...

    Kijiji Electrolux AP280 Find!

The hose and nozzle aren't original. They had a plastic woven hose, whitish and the nozzle wasn't the L shaped, just regular shape colored tan like the body. That hose doesn't look to outta place though I found some great vacs in Calgary at the Mennonite Thrift store near Costco in the NE. when...

How do YOU access vacuum land?

Everyone makes some typo's and grammatical errors and that really isn't a huge issue with me because I make them myself. What some members like me and many others have is an issue with twitter-like and texting type writing much the same as Bobby said above. This is a premium website, not...

How do YOU access vacuum land?

I read this recently in an article about police and searching smart phones. It stated that every text message, phone, call , download, website, even your location while you were doing those things is recorded and NEVER deleted from the phones internal memory and can be retrieved. There is no...
