I don't notice ANY particulates editing from my FQ....so I'd be shocked if someone is having reactions using it as long as the cone is in good shape, the cotton batting around the exhaust is clean. My Miele C3 canister ( that I gave my mom but am using it at the moment, works superbly as well...

not black so much kirbyclassicIII. that doesn't appear to be black like you suggest, just dark grey, which is like mine...and like all the ones I"ve ever seen....just like Les' photos. I suspect its the lighting in the photo that leads you to think its black

So I just used a Kirby shampooer after thinking of this thread, I paid extra attention as I did the cleaning . Stains are gone afterwards ( I pretreated the concerning spots)& it didn’t take a whole day to dry Instead, it took 1.5 hrs. I vacuumed , then shampooed, then dried then vacuumed...
