    Antique TUEC Stationary Cleaner

Someone will be interested. Give it a bit of time. That being said, I'll have to agree with Husky here. You don't carelessly remove these parts of a vintage home. You rob it of its soul, all the little pieces that make it unique.

    Kirby Switch?

I could care less. Was only joking, after all.

    Kirby Switch?

Hey, tell it to the idiot engineers. Why give a vacuum a low setting if it can't survive being used on low? Apparently they figured it out eventually.

    wireless thermostat

See, I'll bet your house DID have a fan wire, that's the point I was making. It wasn't meant to have air conditioning. We already know this because it had window air conditioners at one point in time. The thermostat had power, heat, and fan wires. Instead of running new thermostat wires, they...

    Cadillac Vacuum

Prior to WW2, and maybe a bit after, Cadillac was a major contender in the vacuum cleaner market. Are they rare? Not really, when compared to their contemporaries. But yeah, you don't see them often, and they are often overlooked when everybody and their dog is drooling over vintage Hoovers and...

    wireless thermostat

Old homes will typically only have 3 wires for the thermostat. Power, heat, and fan. You'll almost never find a house that has a common wire, excepting new construction, because you never needed it until they came out with smart thermostats. It's a neat idea. I wish they had one that would let...

    Cadillac Vacuum

There are several vacuum marques that were in some way or other related to their car company counterparts, but Cadillac was NOT one of them. Even up until a few years ago, Clements Mfg. Co. loudly proclaimed that they had registered the Cadillac trademark first, before the car company. Clements...

Good news for the future of vacuums as major home appliances

    Mixer Motor Smell

Standard fare. Lubricate, brighten up the commutator, make sure brushes are clean, move freely, and have some meat left. The thing about mixers is that they tend to be overworked like every time they are in use. It's hard work mixing batter, and notice that most mixer paddles/whisks/whatever...

    Early 1900s Lakeland Vacuum

I'm sure the handle would've just been a basic broom handle, or shovel handle.

    Bissell Rewind Clearview (trash find)

Basically the same as my mom's vac, minus the cord winder. It's ok, I'm not terribly fond of the filter setup. And hers has been through three brushrolls. The ball bearings in it go dry, heat up, and melt the plastic roll. Fun. At least replacements are easy to find. I also found a similar one...

I don't think the bag change indicator is accurate

It's just a pressure switch calibrated to close at a specific pressure (or lack thereof). I think besides it being a bell/whistle, its function is also probably to prevent the absolute morons out there from running the machine without ever changing the bag. Because let's be honest, you know...

    Vacuum idea

Technically, a BLDC motor is kind of superfluous on a battery-powered machine. (Granted they have advantages.) A brushed permanent magnet DC motor would do the trick. I wonder what kind of motors the battery-powered lawn mowers use?

    Another Day, Another eBay Seller
