    Kirby G6 Arcing Brushes

You should replace the carbon brushes. You can do it yourself. It's not hard to do. There are several videos on Youtube that show how to do it.

    Kirby Avalir 2?

Are you guys saying that the Avalir no longer has a Floor Care / Shampoo System available as an option? Why would it have been discontinued?

    EU Vacuum Ratings (Dust Re-Emissions)

Thanks Bill, I found this video very informative. I have always suspected that the EU vacuum ratings to be quite bogus and you have just proven it.

    Kirby Avalir 2?

I don't understand all the hype... I was an engineer before I retired and I can say that although I have not yet seen a Blue Avalir, I would be willing to bet my next Pension check that it does NOT have a brushless motor in it. A brushless motor small enough to fit inside the current G series...

    Royal 880 hose

Les,   I don't think Royal sells the attachment kit any more. I have seen them show up on ebay from time to time so keep an eye out for them.   ~Stan

Just got new carpet: some worries

If your Heritage  II Legend was too hard to push, I would suggest that you had the height setting too low. Try setting 2 or 3 and see how it performs.   Was the green LED on the nozzle flickering or was it on solid? This would indicate brushroll performance.

Deep Down dirt removal is unnecessary?

What a Moron!!! It's a well known fact that dirt trapped deep in the carpet actually destroys the carpet over time when you walk on it.  Trapped dirt will grind through the fibers destroying the knapp of he carpet causing the carpet to wear out much faster than normal.   Bring on a good...

    Kirby Avalir 2?

@mariotron there are a couple of reasons why I don't think Kirby will be using a brushless motor anytime soon.   First brushless motors require a circuit card to function. circuit cards in vacuum cleaners are often the most probable cause of failure. Kirby is all about reliability so I...

    Airflow v Airspeed

Suction vs airflow I would have to agree with Bill.   Airflow is much more important than suction for deep cleaning carpets.   Suction is only good for surface pickup which is why you won't find any bagless vacuums that can deep clean carpet. Bill has videos that prove this.

    Kirby Avalir 2?

A Brushless motor in a Kirby?   I will believe it when I see it!

@vacfan1982 Marcus, I see that you are still a Troll. Always trying to stir up controversy and trouble with your smart-aleck remarks.

    Kirby Avalir 2?

@broomvac If you knew anything about how Direct Air vacuums work and how the airpath is designed,  you would understand that what you are suggesting is not possible.   The fan chamber is totally isolated from the motor and motor cooling fan to prevent dirt and dust from collecting inside...

    Kirby Avalir 2?

@rob Reply #74 Rob,   I'm afraid that you're the one who doesn't know what he's talking about. How many Direct Air vacuums do you know of that have a filter specifically for capturing Carbon dust emitted from the motor brushes? Sebo and Miele don't count because they are not Direct Air...

    Kirby Avalir 2?

Patrick,   It is not possible to put a filter on the air vent on the side of the Kirby G series vacuums. This vent allows hot air from the motor's cooling fan to escape from the motor compartment. If the air escaping from this vent is restricted by any type of filter, the motor will soon...

    Opinions on Kirby Generation 3

The correct belt for the G3 is the newer Knurled belt which has a type of tread on the inside of the belt which reduces slippage.

How much have Kirby G Series Mini Em-Tors improved?

Basically in a nutshell, the airflow of G3 was around 115 CFM and the Sentria II / Avalir has around 137 CFM.

Bagless cleaners are better than Bagged cleaners.

Good Airflow and Agitation are the two most important things that make a vacuum cleaner an excellent cleaning machine.

    Royal 1030

I have an Everlast 8300 made in China in 2008. I will have to say that the quality of materials and workmanship is excellent. I have owned this machine for 4 years now and I've had no problems with it whatsoever.
