The Vacuum Cleaner Twingle Strikes Again!

Super lucky find!!!!Haven't seen one of these Hoover all metal vacuums in years. They used to be so common-now I don't see them anymore.A vacuum as good as a Kirby to me.Did the bag that came with it-was it a dump bag or could it use disposable insert-liner bags?Guess I will have to look in...

    What does this year hold?

Since the fire that destroyed my previous vacuums-have cut back on collecting. The very vintage vacuums are getting to be like other "collector" appliances-lamps,fans,radios-now vacuums-too expensive.

    Trade-in piles!

nowadays vacuum dealers aren't as open to accepting trades as they used to-esp with modern bagless vacuums. The dealers I know of no longer take trade ins.So getting vintage vacuums is getting more difficult.

How to vacuum a bowling alley

The last time I looked at the website featuring Brunswick bowling equipment the "Vacuum cleaner" was a box that would run down the alley and vacuum and wax it all at the same time. You would load the unit with cleaner and wax and set it on its way-then walk away to do other things. You had to move...

Anyone ever used a Dirt Devil Platinum Force Hand Vacuum?

Used to have one of these-don't miss it.Would have been nice if this was BAGGED.The bagless design too messy to deal with. You need a bagged canister to take care of this vacuum.Like the classic bagged DD designs better.

Whats the dirtiest vacuums you've seen?

I used to have some NSS bags like these-but the vacuums and those bags lost in the April 2024 total house fire I had.The NSS vacuums were the first vacuums I bought with settlement money along with Kirby Avalir 2 vacuums.Never heard or seen these bags washed in a washer. If the bag can be used...

    Will Full-Size Straight-Suction Uprights Make a Comeback?

The straight suction uprights were favored forindoor sports floor maintenance. They were fast and effective.A canister vacuum could not be used for this job.

    Will Full-Size Straight-Suction Uprights Make a Comeback?

I tried a Sebo Felix vacuum some ttime ago-Didn't like it.Worked OK as an upright-but as a "canister" with a hose-was TERRIBLE.You have to lug the machine with one hand and work the tool and hose with the other. It could not sit and roll along on the ground as a usual canister can do.I returned...

My Return After A Long Hiatus & Why Bagged Straight-Suction Canisters Are Awesome

AM,FM,TV broadcast transmitters. The part of the station that generates and modulates the signal that you receive on your radio. These have many forced air cooled parts-the fans and blowers can suck in dust that gets into the transmitter inner parts-they can have high voltages on them-like many...

    Hotel vacuums.

Bagless vacuums HAVE NO PLACE for motel/hotel cleaning and other commercial use.The dust IS a workplace hazard.Plus these vacs blow out more dust than bagged vacuums. They belong in the dumpster! The machine in the picture appears to have a bagless bin.

My Return After A Long Hiatus & Why Bagged Straight-Suction Canisters Are Awesome

One fellow I used to know found the Mighty Mites good for vacuuming out transmitters.Feel the bag is too small for floor cleaning. That makes the bag fill fast.

What vacuum cleaners do you think will be forgotten in the future?

I used to have the Oreck edition of this vacuum.Actually worked well-of course not as good as the plug in models.Got lost in the fire of 2024!

    new central vacuum

The dealer in my area can get these Cyclovac machines. He does not stock them. The separate motor unit makes the installation more difficult. Not just a simple freestanding unit. How do you accomidate this machine? The dealer can get 240V dual motor MD units.

    new central vacuum

What voltage supply does this vacuum run from-120or 240V?
  17. T

The horrible truth about central vacuum systems and why every non-Canadian millennial hates them.

Iused to have several "freestanding" central units-not plumbed. The house had no vacuum pipes.Same with the house I am in now.In my area the demand for central vacuums has decreased a lot.Folks are not buying them.Portable machines now have HEPA filtration so centrls are no longer needed.Plumbing...
