I Have the brushes out and I think I'm ready to move on. P.s. I ALWAYS put screws in bags and mark them with a sharpie. Doubt I could make it through any project without doing that. :)

The fan is off. what now?

.. The fan case is apart. I have the armature locking tool to help remove the fan, but don't know how to use it.

I want to service my KIRBY dual 80's motor. There is play in the belt spindle and fan, and the motor squeals. What is the problem? I think it may be the front bearing. To get to the front bearing, I think I must remove the fan? I have all necessary screws removed from the fan casing, to open it...

You shouldn't have trouble changing the belts. It is a pretty simple process. The belt system on these is fairly bad on these machines IMO. Those belts need to be changed about every 6 months for good performance....

I beg to differ.... Nathaniel, the kirby should do an excellent job cleaning, and they are one of the simplest machines I know of to repair.(as easy if not easier than orecks.)If you think it is not cleaning well check: Brush length, brush adjustment, rug gasket, bag, belt, nozzle seal, and...

I got a self propelled windtunnel ultra for $10. The handle release will not hold the handle up and just kind of moves around, what do I do? Thanks much. Btw, everything SHOULD be dark green.

Is.. the power drive cable the little strip that runs down the outside of the motor housing? I assume that is the cable since it then connects to the power drive wheels.

I guess... I will replace the power drive belt anyway, as it is sort of dry. Does it use the same power drive belt as the windtunnel s/p? If not, which one does it use?

I got a tan HOOVER power drive upright from (I assume) the mid nineties. Problem is, the power drive only works in reverse. I have never had a power drive hoover, so I don't know how they function. When I recline the handle, and the machine is off, whether the power drive is set to on or off...

Roomba! I got a 400 discovery at a yard sale 2 days ago for 5 dollars. She thought the battery was bad, but its not. The only problem is the wire like brush won't spin, when I remove that brush, its gears will spin, but it won't. Other wise it works perfect.

Does anybody have a tradition with the headlight safety switch? If so , I'd really like to see a picture of that troublesome assembly.

... I opened the motor and got the junk out. Still wondering about liners, bags though.

How do I access the motor cavity on my cb? There is a wasp nest in there that I need to remove. ALso, is there some type of liner that I should use on the outside of the cloth filter? Thank ya much.
